  • With Steph Curry coming back, the Warriors faced a Lakers team who lost Anthony Davis in the first half. It was Draymond Green who tied his season high 13 assists as he directed traffic in the Warriors split action and off the short roll when the defense trapped Steph, so let’s break down his performance.

    Nice breakdown... green was on fire. You know shiz is going right when both chris paul and draymond green calls the same play at the same time, which is to find klay f thompson with a hot hand.

      Facts, always find Klay when he’s hit two in a roll. Dray and CP3 are cut from some cloth

    I really like your breakdowns, keep 'em coming. A couple of thoughts: 1. It's interesting how often D Lo was the guy making the wrong read or being a step slow on defense. He seems like an empty calorie guy who can get you a bucket or two, but gives it right back on defense. 2. Is it "Top block" or "top lock?"

    • @warriorsbreakdown
      @warriorsbreakdown  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Appreciate the support! And yes it's often the weak side help/responsibility, especially with aggressive deny positions by defenders on the strong side. You have to be aware of the backdoors, etc. 2) I actually think it's top lock lol...but I've heard top block too? Google says way more top lock so I should probably change it haha

    in majority of these actions it helps that you have a defender named DiAngelo Russell, dude looks lost on defense on these clips 🤣

    this is a typical play that steph usually initiates but because he doesnt get the "assist" people like thomas dont call him a pt guard

    • @benndarayta9156
      @benndarayta9156 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Exactly, his gravity is worth more than an assist in my opinion, cuz everytime he gets doubled it usually ends up a dunk or lay up

    at 3:58 you said they ran a pistol action, but isn't that zoom action? If not, then whats the difference between Pistol and Zoom? Not tryna be rude I just wanna get my terminology correct. Also whats the term for when they don't throw to curry out on the three, but they throw to Draymond who goes straight into a DHO, like at 4:07 except Dray wouldn't keep it. Is there a term for that action? slipping my mind

    • @warriorsbreakdown
      @warriorsbreakdown  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      All good man! So I think the Pistol and Zoom actions are used interchangeably a lot of times in the wing/corner triangle offense (not sure if completely accurate). I actually think the Zoom fits this description more since the big man (Wigs in this case) is the one going for the DHO, instead of the ball handler. If it was lets say Steph and Klay first action, then the big man comes for the screen, I think that is more pure pistol action.
      As for the toss out to Dray then goes for a DHO, I think that's just a handoff action lol. I'm not sure if there's a name for that, since if Dray kept it like in that play it'll just be a "fake handoff". It's almost like a "chase" or "get" action except instead of Steph being the one throwing the ball to Dray, another person is. Lmk if you find this term!

      @@warriorsbreakdown Thank you for the clarification my guy! I was watching the warriors/knicks game and they ran that "get" action with Dray and Curry and I could not find the word for it to save my life. I swear JJ reddick talked about it on his podcast but I can't remember the nameeee bro
      loved this video keep it up yo

      @@ryan-vd6we Love JJ's podcast, but yea the get/chase action is interchangeable and something I even run in real life hahah. But that action can also be like the first half/part of the main pistol action
