    First of all, I dont think you're an idiot. I think your screen game is well thought. I really like it. I'm a retired head coach, but like to keep up.

    Like your quads screen. Something we do on your NOW screen is tag our Belly play with it. So it becomes a Pass Run Option to that side to hold the outside backer. The Qb would run the belly with Fb leading. Enjoy your videos.

      Coach Flannery,
      I like that play. How often would you call that play in a game? And thank you for the kind words.

    Hey coach, Love these packages, something over here in the UK that isn't utilized that much.
    My question is how would you adjust these for 9-man football. We run a two back set, 2x1 wr set and a 3 man line? What changes are good to make for this?

    • @CoachMcKie

      Coach Swann,
      I'm going to be honest coach. I have no idea. Haha. If you could draw up a normal formation/play for me then I could help you out.

      Try a 1 back set with 3x1 wr

      Coach McKie Sounds like it’s basically the same as American football except they don’t have offensive tackles.

      Aslo try empty backfield (no RB) and 4x1 WR.

      Hello, I am a high school Quarterback and I want to become a coach after I'm done playing so I do a good amount of research and film, including Coach McKie, and with a 9 man game, I would come out in a 3 by 1, from the 3 side I would have the 1 man fake the tunnel, the 2 take the 2 vertical steps and then come in for the screen, and the 3 man go up and get the nearest outside man, have the left tackle block normal, center takes 2 steps vertical and then make a wall to the inside alley, and the right tackle take 2 steps vertical and then lead up the left hash and hit the nearest inside man

    Ive frequently seen in NFL that offensive linemen before short/screen pass is catched by receiver run beyond line of scrimmage + 1 yard where they must be considered as ineligible men downfield, but they are not. How can it be? Is it because forward pass is short and catched behind line of scrimmage?

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since the pass is behind the line of scrimmage the OL can go down the field.

    • @fredsakay994
      @fredsakay994 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CoachMcKie I cant find it in official NFL rules. There is forward pass and nothing about forward short pass which doesnt cross line of scrimmage.

      Hey Coach,
      I appreciate you taking time out of your day to watch my videos. It means a lot. I use the playbook feature on Hudl. It has a nice feature where you can draw up plays, save them, and even attach clips to the plays.

  • @jasonabney6158

    Hey Coach, with your stack alignment and a single high, have you tried having your weak stack run a fade and hitch vs that 7 man box? For example the point man runs the fade while the #2 runs the hitch. You already have the 2 on 1, so the high/low will really put a lot of stress on that corner. I've done it vs a 2 high team that insisted on having a 6 man box.

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jason Abney Coach, I haven't, but it's something I want to do this Spring. What are your coaching points? Do you call it something different than your normal vert/out? Or do your players know that's how to run the vert/out when in stack?

    • @jasonabney6158
      @jasonabney6158 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like to have the point man do a hard outside release to try and get that corner to turn his hips. This allows the #2 to basically run a normal hitch. However, to keep the corner unsure of which WR is running which route we will change up inside/outside release and who is going vertical and who is hitching up. We have about a dozen 2-3 man pass concepts that each have a name. So all I have to do is call the concept I want and say stack. They know what to do from there. BTW, Centennial High School in California does something very similar that I want to try. They run with really wide splits, so the boundary WRs are very close. They will have the #1 go vertical and the #2 runs a hitch right off his butt, so essentially replacing him on his stem.

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coach Abney,
      Thanks for the tip on Centennial High School. I'll be YouTubing their games. And thanks for the route idea. I'm stealing it and putting it in this Spring. I'll give you credit for it when we score.

    What play do you pair with your quad tunnel screen?

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey coach,
      Thanks for watching my video. It means a lot to me that you took time out of your day to watch it. Thanks.
      I like to pair my tunnel screen to the four receiver side with a 3 step hitch by the single receiver. If the corner is playing five yards or more off of the single receiver then the QB will throw the hitch. If the corner is pressed then the QB will fake the throw and come back to the tunnel screen.

    • @willthurman9471
      @willthurman9471 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the response and for the record I have watched all of your videos. In my initial question I was thinking along the lines of a companion play. I assume some type of QB draw would be built in based on box numbers?

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh yeah coach, our base play is a QB trap paired with a key screen to the 4 WR side and a hitch route to single WR side. If there are more than 6 defenders in the box then the QB better be throwing the ball.
