@@kennethpereyda5707There’s no general defensive scheme to counter this offense yet outside of being physical. The mismatches that the Dolphins are scheming up mixed with the track speed is giving every DC nightmares. It’s too new of a concept
Man I've been a Dolphins fan since I was a little kid, you using the word Dolphins and superbowl in the same sentence, still can't believe it's real!! Let's go MIAMI!!!
I think that was one reason for the success...Tua looks because two receivers are going to the same area which made the defense collapse on Chosen. The safeties have probably seen that formation and motion on tape so they aren't expecting Hill to pop out the backside like that...lucky and good. Still, that is the one play that Tua held the ball and his feet were clean the entire time and after the throw.
Mike McDaniel did a very good job at identifying Vance Joseph's plan B to assure than things will work his way no matter what. I was watching this game closely and you can see the brilliance in his schemes to make the Broncos defense look helpless. Of course, this comes with great execution from the players.
Really smart to add in all these toss plays to keep the outside defenders honest. It had to be part of Denver's original game plan to try to attack their MVP candidate QB as much as possible.
I remember something Bill Parcells said. Over the coarse of the year the fast quick guys slow down. Let’s see how they’re playing in December and January before crowning them
This team was insanely scary before they put all this stuff in the 2nd year in... Now it's just confusing defenses. Thing is every time a defense makes some adjustments to slow it down like the Pats did, McDaniel's schemes up something else to counter that..
the second play you touch on is actually well known among Fin fans for tyreek running the wrong route, which is also why Tua clearly goes through a progression and finds him again! Excellent point bringing up how the offensive line is a major reason it was a successful play. O-line is so overlooked in mainstream media. Yeah Tyreek is wicked fast but if whoever is at QB is pressured constantly it aint gon happen.
The running starts means the wrs are at about 15mph before the corners even get a chance to move, helps get spacing separation when ur chasing someone down who has a running start
Sanjit I heard on the fantasy footballers podcast today that Las Vegas odds makers ranked Josh McDaniels the number 1 headcoach to get fired first. Hallelujah 🙌 👏 🙏
Denvers D sucks and they gave up in this game. They were out of position on most plays and looked scared to tackle. A few missed holding calls and a clear block in the back at the 10:20 mark right at the 50.
Eric Mangini was the Man-Genius once....I like what Mcdaniel does, but Broncos were an absolute disgrace on D. McDaniel got to prove he can take a team into playoffs ready to go too. Watching him have a chance at Buffalo last year and not being able to get a play to his QB with more the 12 seconds left the entire second half was killing me. It was backup QB and it wouldve been nice f he couldve had a second to glance at D instead of worying about getting a late motion in under clock.
Really brilliant analysis brother. Even for an NFL OG like myself these are just amazing concepts and that coach may just be an offensive G-enius. Lets see if the D's can adjust but for now, thats is just really good stuff.
Good breakdowns. The plays where they run a dive but pitch it first, that has been seen too often by defenses now but making it look like an outside pitch and bowing it back inside, that is the next evolution of the play. Short yardage though, that is not the "fake out" it once was. The long run by Achane, that takes a LOT of timing and execution. Similar plays last year, you would scratch your head after because it takes so long to develop or is so easy to mess up. Now, they are running it perfectly.
Great analysis Really loved this video from beginning to end. But if you’ve ever been in a defensive room Surtain’s… Number one job on run fits around the 6:00 minute mark is precisely keep contain and do exactly what he did on that play Which honestly just even more so highlights what you’re trying to purvey anyways
Keeping containment - Yes! Not widening the gap by 8 yards. The term "setting the edge" has lost its meaning. For a guy to Truly set the edge, He must Stop the gap from widening. A few years back, Bill B beat the Rams high powered offense by putting in guys who could set the edge and it stopped the wide zone Mcvay had so much success with because when you Truly set the edge, the gaps get smaller, and it makes it harder for the RB.
Fantastic breakdown for people like me who aren't so much knowledgeable with the inner workings of the offensive line. I was one of those people complaining if only they had an O line, well you just proved to me they have that O line. I guess the only thing remaining is if they stay healthy and most important of all they stay hungry.
Sometimes I wonder how this offense can do once teams know and counter the film. Then I realize Mike Mcd can improvise and find a better counter. It’s a great time to be a fins fan
The Broncos were not "gap" disciplined and teams will come up with different fronts based off of what is seen on tape. Different blitz concepts will stop most of these runs. This was impressive to put on tape none the less
I think you'll see Buffalo shut down those options as their zone D is quite capable of passing off coverage....Denver was clueless with that aspect of the defense. @@The_Football_Scout

That was the first game all our starting OLine was playing together. It only happened one other time. Our Oline was not good the other games. We were not healthy. Tua’s fast release makes it work
I don't think this has aged well. Miami has ended up soiling themselves once again and look like crap as usual. McDaniel has done nothing to further this team and I honestly feel like they are weaker than under Flores. Maybe he can pull out some miracle but I'm not seeing it.
The line is getting coached up for the first time in... 5 years? And Barry knows how to coach his guys for this offense, which Applebaum didn't. People keep pointing to NE holding them to 24, forgetting that they were an unforced error and the special teams play of the year away from that being 34.
Yeah, that NE game would've been much more straightforward if the offense doesn't get a bit sloppy occasionally (And it was still fairly straightforward). We stopped ourselves more times in that game than they did. On the final Miami drive, when we were trying to run out the clock and/or make it a 2 score game, Mostert ran for 25 yards in 4 attempts, moving down the field effortlessly, but there was a botched snap/fumble leading to the second missed kick from Sanders, giving a chance to the Pats.
5:45 I think you're misreading the Denver defense. Surtain's responsibility at that point is to turn the play back inside. He's not assuming every one of his teammates got beat on the play. It's team defense.
I love all these NFL channels deep analyzing the long Tyreek Hill touchdown play and talking about how those two deep routes work together only for Tyreek himself to say he ran the wrong route on it lol. Dolphins just be throwing the ball up and getting lucky. This happened at the beginning of last year too.
WCO is still around, nobody stopped it, just QBs couldn't learn it. And all its core plays became Brady's, Brees', Rodgers ran the WCO walsh terms and all, guys who rarely got stopped.
