Unparalleled Cap! Good stuff Dan!
There are a lot of things they could’ve done to make this figure better, like A LOT. That being said it is by far my most anticipated figure of the year. The way this thing just pops off the shelf right into your eyeballs cannot be understated. The colors and the wash go such a long way to accentuate this figure. The fact that he stands out way more than even Retro Spider-Man is really something. (Which makes me hope this year we’ll get an even brighter Spidey figure) Anyway nice review as always and I’m happy to see you got it early!
The holes in the shield wreck this.
The issue with the shield is that this would have been the best version of it if it wasn't for the holes. Other shields are either the wrong shade of blue and/or red, too small or too large, the star and circles wrong dimensions, curvature too flat or the arm fastening isn't great. It then becomes a case of which elements are more important to have. Colour match, shield size and curvature are key for me. Unfortunately this shield prevents it from being a 10/10 Cap. Also, it would be good to see Hasbro come up with a better way of fixing the shield to the arm/back. I feel the current clip and peg design can be improved on as both clip/peg combo forces the shield to extend out further than it should when worn on the arm and back.
Yeh I agree with it all, I would love some sort of epic magnet system but I understand for Legends that’s props never on the cards, but yes I agree it’s frustrating cus I didn’t think it would be so hard to find a matching shield without hole 🕳
I hope that third parties jump on making pegs to fill the gaps.
I wish I had your postman! It does look good and perhaps the most accurate of all comic Caps, but for the price they could have upgraded his Elbows and knees to pin-less and thrown in a second complete shield. Hopefully it's cus they've spent all the budget of this series on a brand new Toad!

The holes and the wrist clip on the shield are a huge bummer, however I'm still very excited about this figure!
Yeh I struggled to find another shield to colour match this Cap, and gonna be careful with the clip system
Good review as always...I don't mind the homage packaging but Hasbro should not price hike (deluxe pricing) us a for a cardboard for a diorama. At least give us an actual diorama for that price.

the only thing that bums me with this fig is the holes. if they made the effects magnetized, it would be better. but still, prolly the best cap since the face off.

This may be a repaint with a shield with bullet holes in it, But to me, This 20th anniversary Captain America is the best Captain America along with 80 years, vintage collection Cap because those 3 are awesome in an Avengers display or to fight the classic Red Skull, Arnim Zola with HYDRA troopers, Loki, Ultron, Baron Zemo, MODOK with AIM troopers, and and even though I don't have him, I'm still getting it. Nice review Dan
I know this is just Caps standard classic look but the heads and the shade of blue remind me a lot of Steve Epting during his time with Ed Brubaker.
The Steve Rogers head turned out much better than I thought it would. Only the holes in the shield, the awful easily broken clip and the price I don't like.
GI Joe Classified's Alley Viper has a better system for holding the shield.
I agree the head is nice, think I’m going to use it on another cap body so I can display both & yes the shield clip is old and outdated they need something new

Just found out about this review thanks to Jay C. Love your style of reviews and the fact you go over articulation. Even if the figure has been done before, it's good that you think of others who are new to this cap. I'm also going to follow because I feel the need for more toy reviewers outside the U.S. The only other reviewer I followed across the pond was Glen R.I.P. keep up the reviews! cheers!
Just got mine today, in part because of this review. Lets get a Ghost Rider, Captain Marvel, Thor & Namor next in this line.

I can't wait to get this Cap, I think I actually need 2! And I also can't wait to rip one out of the packaging and take off the black shoulder straps and give him a none holy shield!
I remember the definitive Cap back in the day was the Face Off version and I could never get him (NIB), so I settled for the toy biz Ultimate Cap. I really really can’t wait for this though.
Both great caps for there time, but just dont hold up anymore. You will be very happy with this new 20th one 👌🏻

Those shields look like they are different sizes but it may just be the accessories and color.
Buzzing for this!! I bought 3! One boxed, one shield up, mask on and the other shield on back, mask down, Cap is my guy!

This figure is good enough for the price. Anything more and we'll be looking at a special edition, hard to find edition.

Yep that was frustrating, I only compared a few shields so will keep looking but admit I was wrong, however I still like them trying something new
Worst part is, this will be my first Cap
To my liking, this is definitive figure of Captain America in the Marvel Legends line, this figure is great it has a very classic look, and as for accessories wooow!
I really hope that these are going to hit in the US soon! Really hoping they get here before April! I have this guy on order from Hasbro and the Hulk as well!
Preordered him when he first dropped from bbts, it says it’ll come in April but I’m really hoping he comes sooner cause my black suit spidey says april too which is weird cause I got my hammerhead but whatever. Never got 80th anniversary so I had to get this cause it’s a classic!

they should've put a black shading on his mask, it was done in the comics and in a cartoon called Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

Debated about this, but I went ahead and pre-order that now. It is so pretty sweet figure
I approve of the army building segment of this review. 😁 one thing that does bother me about this mould is the shoulders and articulation which I think can be improved on this mould at the shoulders, however that masked headsculpt is fire 🔥
I picked up this Cap and the shoulder articulation is fantastic, so much improved over previous versions I’m so happy !
Toy biz had 2-3x the articulation, details, sculpt and pinless tech, hasbro took 20 years just to finally kinda implement it... Hasbro just does proportions better. Imagine if toy biz didn't die out, we'd have articulation and paint details almost like old mcfarlane style figures, that would've been a sight to see 👍

Another cap that years from now we’ll be buying another one for probably 40 dollars assuming the price keeps going up lol. Where’s the pinless tech should’ve had additional sheild without holes sheild should’ve had a different pegging mechanism should’ve had an additional smiling head sculpt. With all that being said this is the best Cap to have now but will it be later probably not……
I would also love all of that but it’s the toy business after all, they gonna drip feed us what we want... but I still agree and until then this is still the best current cap for sure 🙏🏻

Its the best cap to date, but the pins and the shield with holes makes it a dud especially for the price. I'll buy it, then I'll fig swap it with the next one they do that finally is complete in a year or two, they ask for it themselves. Re-using the same molds for up to 10 years is egregious, they want you to buy 3 before they finally give you the one you want.
It's this kind of detail that makes me not want to get the retro line figures because know Legends understands how little details can make or break a figure and they still give us the bare minimum with figures like Tigra. I really hope we finally get a Ant-Man, Wasp, and Spidey figure of this quality.
But what about the new retro classic comic Falcon that's already starting to release in some places? DAmazing already reviewed it.
It’s a nice figure for sure but not his actual classic look, that or we still need were he had the deep V on the chest

I don't know about the UK but here in Germany i just ordered mine from Amazon. Surprisingly it says release is 1st February and it should arrive on the 7th. I believe it when I see it but yeah, seems Cap is on it's way to Europe.

Great figure, but do away with that cowl piece, it looks stupid. Where did he STRETCH the cowl from to pull it down over his shoulders, the mouth frame? I prefer the idea that he just pulls off a separate helmet/mask, so no cowl piece for me.

@@DanWhoReviews no prob and I have seen other reviews but i am waiting for your rev because you are great and everyone is ranting about that guy but I would say he is pretty good and my fav version because protoclassic armor was sick. Though this is not fully accurate but still good for me good for an iron man haul of armor display or an Avengers one

This body mold originated in 2015/2016.
I know it’s frustrating but 90% of my figures on the shelve still have pins so it will still work in the collection but I agree knowing that tech exists it’s a shame to not see it on everything 👀

Straps shouldn't even be on the body as they're supposed to be shield straps, not part of Cap's outfit.

Great review, but this 3rd repaint of the Wolfcap mold isn't even a patch on either the 80 Years one or even the Retro Wave 1 version. The unmasked head looks like Robert Redford and Donald Trump made a baby, and while the shield is a nice size, the holes are inexcusable, I guess a tribute to the shitty gimmicks some Toybiz figures were ruined by.
This is a repaint of the 80 years mould, not the CapWolf mould you dunce
@@haydentcem The 80 Years mold is a repaint of Capwolf with a new Alex Ross head and the scalemail chest overlay. Before it was reused for the 80 Years repaint, it was also the Retro Collection Wave 1 Cap. You're welcome.

It's the new Fisher Price aesthetic they're shoving down our throats. Putting him next to Retro Spider-Man and 80 Years Thor and Iron Man show the Golden Age of Marvel Legends has come to an end, never mind the lack of a proper shield without holes, no butterfly joints and the continued use of the trash clip/peg system on the trash shield.
He looks great! The colors are beautifully vibrant and I love that head sculpt. Captain America’s mask always had tiny eyeholes in the 1960s and 1970s, so it’s nice to see that the head is accurate to the source material.
