These videos make my day! It is funny though that my two favorite splashes black swan 4 threat and sorcerer Supreme are scored so low cuz they have been in most of my best games lol
Beautiful. Beautiful. Been waiting for this one to drop like a kid on Christmas morning, thinking it would make a perfect podcast for my workday. And here you’ve posted it right as I’m sitting down for lunch. Looking forward to digging into the 5 threats, particularly how you’d rank some characters compared to their lower threat versions. As a newer player, it’s tough to know whether it’s worth playing a 5 threat MODOK when he’s got a perfectly serviceable 4 threat version, for example.
Great video! I definitely feel like you guys undervalued sexy strange in part for his sexiness and in part for his ability to rearrange the board without spending actions.
ASM is actually quite good in Webs too. Not as a leader, but under Miles. He brings a safe grab, can help keep your team alive (and in position against wild pushes) with witty banter, and he loves Miles's leadership because unlocking skulls really turns his reroll all for defence up
@RichMidGaming most of the time I think you're right, but when forced to play on something like Gamma the value of a tankier carrier that can cover most of the fight with witty banter is big. His buff was pretty big too. Losing a cost on his spender makes it usable alot more often, and getting power from rolling crits is huge
Great video as usual , I ve been running OG strange in defenders with Shuri as a splash and it s pretty effective : strange can re roll skull so shuri can boost attacks or defense of strange very effective, shuri needs just one dommage to put the hex oh and cover me with an auto push on shuri is pretty good
I do have to agree the DwtD ttc should cost a lot more power or have a min threat sacrifice or health regained somehow related to the sacrificed character. Also there is the issue of him getting the activated token removed...
Video idea: can you guys please do a cover all of the ways to score victory points that do NOT involve extracts or secures? I'm talking abilities, leaderships, cards, etc. Preferably, speak on the effectiveness/probability of each occurring. If it makes sense, maybe talk about abilities/leaderships/cards that affect secures and extracts too.
I feel cable is amazing. Cat and mouse and slide gets him up the board and the 2 shots and throw can delete an enemy fairly easily. His range let's him cover multiple enemies at once. 1 free move and 3 attacks a turn can get work done.
To be fair to Ghost Rider and Midnight Suns; a friend of mine mainly plays MS and won some pretty good sized tournaments(50+ players) playing GR there. This was before i-Hulk came out as well. He had the "White Walker" MS #1 title for North American for about a year on Longshanks fwiw. He loves to throw down Blade, GR, and i-Hulk at 15 threat, add Wong for 17 threat.
I find it fun to see how different metals are. Old Ghost Rider is considered okay here in the US. The card is easily played around by killing the 2 threats early and then getting Ghost Rider or just controlling them with throws and pushes; you don't kill any of them. Here, Logan, Crimson Dynamo, and Beta Ray rule the meta and need the Nerf bat, but you guys had them at A/B. Also, Nova is one of the most slept-on models...
Funny thing about Mental Domination, you can make the chosen character attack themselves in a very "Why are you hitting yourself?" moment. So picking targets with low physical defense still has some value. I think you guys are seriously overvaluing Ghost Rider and DWTD. If he was an S-Tier that needs to be fixed because he's so good, he'd be as widespread as Ultron 2 when Age was still legal. But in my years of playing this game, I can count on one hand the amount of times another person ran this character with DWTD either in person or in a Batrep, let alone talk about his impact on the game. However Drac shouldn't be in S tier because I finally found an affiliation I have more fun with than Dark Dimension and don't want anyone from AMG touching him. Put him in A+ tier 😎
For the Seven Sons of Cinnibus, how do you know when the attack costs an attack action? Compared to the Cassandra Nova card where you said it can be used as a third attack.
I feel Cable is definitely a lower A since his card got changed.... the support he gives the team and the changes to his gun made a big difference. I understand the turn one plays being a big deal, but Angela IMO is not an A.... The 4/4/4 defense is a nice static block, but that's it... She is a little dated in card design and is outshined by other 5 threats....
A number of things. Firstly, Cables Leadership is just fine, is nothing special and nowhere near as good as some others out there. Secondly, they took a huge hit with the loss of Exceptional Healing and No Matter the Cost. Over the past 6 months (from when the latest changes came into place), X-Force are currently the 6th worse affiliation in competitive games with only a 44% win rate. Now does that mean somebody can't do well with them, absolutely not - I had (when I played them) a 92% win rate over 50-60 games with Winter Guard, the global average was 42%, but one person doing well with an affiliation doesn't make them good.
Why would you take og strange for heals when Wong is better for the threat? Og strange is just out matched by SSS, especially in defenders. You see him a lot more often and gives the affliation ways to displace more than one model in a turn other than throws.
@joshuaarseneault1191 Kinda. Because he hits pretty damn hard, so he's a character you don't WANT to ignore, but you have to because he can hit back if you do. So, without a counter, it encourages you to just wipe him out instantly and be done with him
I would have put this threat 5 Captain Marvel in D behind Jean , Jean is not great but at least she can use her kit Marvel don't , put her a stun and you can just ignore her for the rest of the game , she just can't do anything and need a complete rework
How is og Strange better than Supreme Strange? Og Strange has worse attacks, his medpack is worse than Hood's and while he can heal and add def dice he rarely has enough power to do a whole lot unless you luck into rolling a whole lot of shields.
Pushing them down a threat level would be an option, but in most cases they would need a nerf (the gap between what you want a four or five threat to do is pretty big in my opinion). Also, in most cases their kits just don’t fundamentally work (Jean being a casing point).
@@RichMidGaming yeah. I get that and generally agree. I was just musing about these characters that are lowest in their tiers. If Clea was a 2 threat as she stands would she be overpowered? Would she still suck? The same question could be asked about Jean. She really bad right now but if you made her a 4 would she still be bad or would she be too good?
She is one of only 3 characters on the game, who, unaided can perform a mid-line extract play turn one, and one of only two characters in the game who has power left over to be able to use on a pay to flip. Namor exists and has taken over from her in a lot of situations, but that doesn’t mean she still isn’t a very good character. The advantage this one play can give you round one, plus it often means your opponent now needs to become the aggressor, has a huge impact on the game, and now means your opponent is playing catch up.
@@RichMidGaming I understand that about Angela, but literally no one plays her. So either she isn't an "A" tier character or the community has somehow overlooked her utility.
The new Black Bolt is confirmed to be called King Black Bolt, FYI. He showed up on the new timeline list.
These videos are brilliant, I'm learning so much from them, thank you.
Also: Rich's cheeky laugh is giving serious Frank Gorshin's Riddler vibes.

Thanks for your positive feedback and glad you've been enjoying the series!
Been loving this series! Thanks for putting these tier lists out
That was fast! Been loving these as well. I just play casually with who I like but it's fun to know the general climate of things.
I love the proposed idea of Strange's leadership having the option to pay for the hex chance.
Great video! I definitely feel like you guys undervalued sexy strange in part for his sexiness and in part for his ability to rearrange the board without spending actions.
Great work guys :)
Thnx brother. Iam new to this game, building up my own spider verse waiting for 2099 in q3

I feel like his safe extract has been replaced with Cat/3 Threat Peter, but I do agree he can do an ok job under Miles!

The incinerate should be guaranteed for 2 power.

A year ago, I was not a fan of Quin… now I can’t get enough of you two! Keep it up Brits! 💪
Your initial opinion of Quinn was the correct one 🤣

Cable a B while Rider an S is just nuts.
Year month day is also common for file naming conventions in field like law because then when you sort by name files appear in chronological order
Funny thing about Mental Domination, you can make the chosen character attack themselves in a very "Why are you hitting yourself?" moment. So picking targets with low physical defense still has some value.

I find dracula works amazing with og Steve, I have found that I am all but unstoppable with the power reduction.
For the Seven Sons of Cinnibus, how do you know when the attack costs an attack action? Compared to the Cassandra Nova card where you said it can be used as a third attack.
Drac is definitely a broken boy 😅 good list so far, only a few more hours to go.
Namor secret SS tier confirmed
Sssshhhhhh - don’t spoil it 🤣🤣🤣

Why does x-force feel half baked? I'm 6-0 with my full x-force team right now... what's the weakness I'm looking out for?
A number of things.

Would Dracula losing his counter attk be enough to get him into at least the A tier? That ability doesn't seem necessary imo.
Losing his clap back would probably drag him into B tier. Without his leadership card he is very high A.
Soooo, just ignore him as an enemy and his value plummets?
@joshuaarseneault1191 Kinda. Because he hits pretty damn hard, so he's a character you don't WANT to ignore, but you have to because he can hit back if you do. So, without a counter, it encourages you to just wipe him out instantly and be done with him
Pretty sure you could win the world with that Drac, Thanos, Namor list. Dracula is such a horrible attack target.
He did beat me with it in our final. It’s pretty darn good.
I would have put this threat 5 Captain Marvel in D behind Jean , Jean is not great but at least she can use her kit Marvel don't , put her a stun and you can just ignore her for the rest of the game , she just can't do anything and need a complete rework

Could some of these D tier's be "fixed" simply by making them a threat level lower? Jean, Clea, Ursa Major?
Pushing them down a threat level would be an option, but in most cases they would need a nerf (the gap between what you want a four or five threat to do is pretty big in my opinion).
Also, in most cases their kits just don’t fundamentally work (Jean being a casing point).
