    In the correct and original Haft Sin all items should be those grown from the earth/the land and have Persian names too. sekkeh is an Arabic word and it's not a plant-based item either. Many people use sekkeh in their Haft Sin, but it's better to replace it with sepand (esfand) to make our Haft Sin table even more Persian and closer to the way our ancestors would make it.
