I had someone tell me it was done with breath and I have struggled to do this for a long time---then was told about the wa wa sound and I was moving waaay too much- so for years just played straight tone and got along fine--this helps so much and I will work on these exercises mechanically

Yes, vibrato on saxophone is not done with the lip. That's a flute technique. So glad this live session was helpful :)
