That new copper finish looks amazing. I have two ICHI10s, and my main one is beat to hell in a good way. I'd love to get a copper Q and see how the road wrecks it to bits ❤
This is the exact model I am going for as well! I have a yamaha pacifica in shell pink and a sterling cutlass in rose gold. The matte copper on this q54 looks suuuuper classy!!
I've owned a black Q54 for the better part of a year now and I love it. Light, plays great, sonically versatile, and as a bonus, it's the best travel guitar I've ever had.
I don't see there's really any choice since the pickup configuration, number of strings, neck shape / thickness / fret slant all affect the playability - so you can pick a color if you are only going to hang it on the wall. If you're playing it then your choice will, in most cases, be fixed by the other options.
@@michael1 Bro you sure helped a lot despite being a simple comment haha, I just need someone to tell me that to convince me on choosing the q54w without looking at the Q54PB Cosmic Blue, haha thxxx
Yeah, I just read too many QA issues with Ibanez from indonesia - and these aren't even premium. To me they seem expensive for what are standard series, indonesian built guitars (much like Strandberg seem stupidly overpriced for Indonesian) - and I find plenty of threads online with people getting switches breaking, loose tone knobs - even these guitars arriving with the wrong neck on the wrong body because the factory have put the slanted fret neck by mistake. Maybe a few retailers pick out nice ones (I'd avoid the retailers who just ship the box from the manufacturer) but even so, a different paint job isn't that exciting - especially since, if you wanted HH and the thinner, fret slanted neck you have no choice over the colour anyway - it's just a dull grey now rather than a dull black. I wish they'd made a few in Japan to a higher spec + hard case. As it is perhaps a few places will be discounting and clearing out old stocks of the evo gold fretted models and these will probably be better value for money (andertons already sold their last few black qx52 for £650 ish - £300 discount compared with the metallic grey - and probably around the price these should actually be given their manufacturing country and spec level)
The Q54 is my main now. The lightness/balance make it easy to use at a desk or couch. The weight makes a surprisingly huge difference; to the point where I don't want to bother with my higher spec guitars. The only downside for me is the chunky neck. I was hoping the new versions would have thinner necks, but alas. 😅
What's the difference between the neck profile (flat on the back or not) between the Q and QX? I tried the Q52LBM and i like the neck because it doesn't have the standard flat neck profile that ibanez has.
Only problem is why Ibanez headless 7 string are still 25.5 inch scale😅, I don’t care the so called slanted fret just make a longer scale for extended range guitar
QX52 is NOT Multiscale (25.5 scale) and Not fan frets - just angled (8 degrees I believe)

That would look sick with a little bit of road wear on it!

I had the same experience. My Q54 is next to me right now.
That 7 string top is so sick 😮
But it's not that blue. More greenish in real life. Cameras tend to make green/turquise/teal more blue-ish than in real life.
not fanned frets, angled frets. (your bridge and nut are parallel)
That hss 7 is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Can’t wait.
Get down on it. Lovely guitar so it is 🤘
Finishes are great
that new 7 string is gonna finally make me pull the trigger on one of these. I still wish they made some MIJ ones.
Cooper looks so so metallic and "clean" looks crazy cute and elegant; yet the cosmic blue looks so complex and artistic.. hard choice.. damnnn❤🔥❤🔥

Amazing tone
They all sound fantastic clean as well as heavily distorted
They definitely offer a lot of versatility 🤘

@@michael1 Just go for the Ibanez Prestige then, pay that bit extra for good Japanese production
@@ralfjenkins There isn't one ralf. They only make standard quest models. That was the point. (Try and keep up)
@@michael1 Are you ok?
I want a sonic blue with pearl pick-guard. The copper looks good too!

What a killer studio man , beautiful.
Nice playing
For me these new headless model pickups are a bit thin sounding.
as others have said, the frets on the QX are slanted for ergonomics, not fanned for multiscale effect.
You mention "it has a super-flat radius" but the fretboard is just a 12" (305mm) radius, like a standard "modern strat" would have from any brand.

I wish they made an 8 string quest Y_Y
The pick guard on the 6 should be black for sure.
Could be a nice weekend project with a marker pen 👌😝
@@guitarguitaruklol. probably your only option. wouldn't be easy to route a strat one into that shape.
Not fanned frets. Really weird that he thought that.
why no red yet
Still waiting for a Q-series with a tremolo. Come on Ibanez! 😒

I can’t stand headless guitars. They sound fantastic. Just can’t get over the looks. ❤
They're pretty divisive that's for sure. Tonez for days tho 👌
It's pronounced ibanezukanezar.
i smoke cigarettes
cleans sound harsh and sterile
Not everbody is a shredder.. sorry you lost me after 20 sec
Loads of other tones and styles throughout the video man, if you wanted to check them out with the chapters, but no worries 😁
