Love these videos! Next step would be to have people sample your creations. Maybe some random locals or even restaurant owners.

Tân Mỹ market is right next to Phú Mỹ Hưng, a rich suburb. So if you ask any working-class person in D7, they will immediately brand it 'rich people market'. The prices there are always higher than others around D7.

Looks great as always, I'm often very amused by your experimental type of cooking videos with Viet ingredients. We usually use turmeric with certain type of protein that could be a bit muddy such as fresh water fish, frog, eel, as opposed to "seafoody" proteins, which usually more delicate in flavor.

The root you wondered about is Krachai in Thai, or fingerroot in English. Not sure what its called in Vietnamese. Very common in Thai stir fries and quite delicious. From a UK fan...BTW congrats on the ever growing subscriber count... well deserved!

This is really great. Very interesting. I will definitely add this to my family weekend's menu, but probably I would like to change a little bit, instead of using rice noodle I could use "phở sắn", and because you have had fresh tumeric in the soup base so I will add one more ingredient "củ nén" into it.

from what I've seen he bought, the cost comes out from making this meal is no more than $15 (350,000 vnd). that easily feeds 5 people. if you eat out. $15 can feed 5 to 7 people.

very interesting dish. sometimes they add a bit of flour like corn starch or potato starch slury to thicken the sauce a bit so it sticks to the noodles better when you mix it up. your cooking style is little western but the way you season is very vietnamese. 11:26 the way you peeled those shallots with the paring knife is definitely western. vietnamese people use their index finger to guide the peel and goes away vs the western using the thumb and peeling towards you. both are fine honestly its just different thats all. looks tasty but i might have to substitute hen with some clams here in the states. do more cooking experiments. especially since a lot of local produce is available to you.

Peeled prawns and squid is so white. Its kinda boring. You need to leave the shell on but, better yet, get the little shrimps and fry them up. Instead of squid, go for a vietnamese fatty fish or eels, they will go well with tuneric. Everything else is spot on.
