My oldest brother was a life member of the Finks on the Gold Coast. He offered to nom me when I was 25. I was ultra proud that he had that level of respect for me. I had an awesome Mrs at the time and declined his offer. Instead, I bought a house not long after and started an apprenticeship as a sparky at 26. I'm now 47. Still a sparky. Been working for the supply authority in Brisbane for 16 years. Still with the same Mrs and we're very fiinancially stable. Unfortunately my brother is dead as a result of the life he chose. I miss him every day but never regret the decisions I've made. Getting up and grinding through the days, weeks, months and years as a hard working member of society and supporting the people you care about is the real man shit! Well done bro!👊🏻

I found my manhood thru the hardships I endured while playing (american) football, fighting in martial arts gym (full contact), and blue collar work in my adulthood. You’re 100%, it’s not about having flashy things. It’s about having grit, being disciplined, being dependable, and being able to protect yourself and the ppl you care about.

I feel you there mate, I was doing the same thing at 20 in Geelong thought that was the life I wanted for myself but than I saw the different between the old school and new school and the brotherhood I thought I'll be joining was that of standing over the own brothers, the back stabbing and the betrayal of the code of the brotherhood. I grow up around the old school bikies were it wasn't just about the money it was the time when they still did toy runs, helping the community in there own ways, looking after the local sports team and they loved there bikes and going for a run to small country town ages away, yes the were still scary big man and there was still a "code" that they lived by, that is long gone.

Brother straight up you’re a role model for the younger boys coming up through these areas, i myself nearly walked the same path many years ago.
It’s hard when you’re young to not get stuck idolising the money, cars and doobays especially when you come from nukk all..
Watching your videos are in a way comparable to Spanians, the way you both express yourself, carry yourself and the language you use makes it feel like you’re one of the brothers from the area and there’s great power in that.
You have the relatability, the understanding and the platform to really get through to these younger lads.
Keep fighting the good fight bra 💪🏻

Good on you, and hope many, many youth can make those decisions and create the right opportunities. I in a similar circumstance had no option then take up life with the wrong crowd, at a very young age, needed a place to live, feed myself and survive, after many, many chances in life, one of the leaders insisted I used some of my income to finish high school, then university and then just leave to start another life... I didn't want to but I did that, and that was 28 years ago, the best decision and that man also saved my life! Think of it everyday, my kids don't care, don't realise the value of chances and opportunities

Thanks for this video. I didn’t grow up with a risk of joining a gang and I have had a good male role model my whole life in my own dad but I never really appreciated that until I watched this. Getting a degree, a career, being able to provide for a family has mostly felt like just following orders from my parents and perhaps too much media in the 90s and 2000s has made that seem like a dull way to live. But these values are ingrained in me now and soon I’ll marry my partner and we’re planning on kids. Putting it in this light that this is what it is to be a man just makes me appreciate how I was raised and the parents I have.

To reflect on life decisions at such a young age and the impacts of those decisions can be really confronting and eye opening.

Such a fragile age, where simple decisions can impact one’s life so much.

Anyone who grew up in the 90s I understand how we were the test dummies and the lost and wasted generation but our parents are to be blamed as we got throw into a world with no help no brains no nothing
