Stevie Richards is one of the more underated guys from the early late 90s and 2000s. Stevie night heat was blowing up in WWE before they squashed it. Right to censor were the most hated faction in all of wrestling during the attitude era.

Raven has admitted he has borderline personality disorder and narccistic disorder. He always admitted he burnt a lot of bridges as to why he wasn't as more successful as he could have been. He literally was his character, as he's admitted in a type of method acting way. He was his character and admitted he had problems later on, especially with drugs. Raven is my favorite wrestler but I can understand Raven to be difficult to work with back then.

Yeah, I think it's important to emphasise that Stevie saying "he's a dick" about Raven is based on *initial* impressions.
I think even Raven himself would tell you that, especially back in the 90's, he was an asshole. Probably in part because of the character, in part because of his real personality and his personal demons, which were really bad back then.
But I also think that, beneath that caustic exterior, there's a good guy who is passionate about wrestling, and eager to share his knowledge with people who are prepared to learn.
It's a big part of why he's my favourite wrestler too.

Raven of all people should have one of those producer jobs they give the former pros. When you listen to him on his podcast he knows how to do so much with so little. He has great ring psychology and his knowledge of how to build characters is amazing. He said in ECW he never wanted Raven to be cool. He always wanted people to think him thinking he was cool was pathetic. That's why he teamed with Blue Meanie and put Stevie in those ridiculous shorts and crop tops. He said insecure people keep losers in their gang to make themselves feel better because those people will always look up to them and tell them how great they are.

I met Raven in the airport where I worked; it was around the TNA time, after he’d grown his hair back. He told me he was late for his flight and asked could I help. He said he’d give me a signed 8x10 (a signed 2x4 would have been better), but I explained that I worked in terminal services and couldn’t really help as it was the airline who look after that stuff. I went over to a free check-in desk anyway and told the girl the story. Long story short, she sorted it all out. I didn’t expect anything from Raven in return and was happy just to talk to him for a minute, but he gave me a signed photo anyway, even though I didn’t really do anything. So although I don’t discount Stevie’s take, as he seems like a good guy himself, my experience with Raven was good. And I still have the photo framed on my wall.

People change. People also have good and bad days. And People also seem to not understand this context when they generalize people are 'nice' or 'mean'. I don't like to put people in that box myself.
I will often describe someone as a "@sshole" or not: which doesn't mean they are necessarily a bad person, but rather someone whose immature around people they do not like or know. But I haven't met many people who hated every person in their life, and just mean all the time, or constantly nice without bad days. We are all human afterall, and people who are traveling or overworked are particularly susceptible to snapping at people.
I've never meet a person in my life who wasn't a jerk at one point or another (even a priest I knew) - some are just much more often. And even that changes as we age, experience tragedy and growth, or change professions and living situations.

Interesting that Stevie's relationship with Raven followed almost exactly the same trajectory that Paul London's with Billy Kidman did. Maybe Kidman also got similar shit from Raven when they worked together, and when he escaped (Raven's faction and later WCW) and became a name in his own right, Kidman went on to repeat the cycle by inflicting abuse or acting cold with a junior partner of his own.

Undertaker vs. Raven would’ve also been fantastic around 2004/05 when Raven could still go in the ring. I always thought the DDP stalker was really stupid, but if they had built up Raven a little better around that time, gave him a little bit of creative leeway for his angles, and inserted him into that storyline instead of Page, that would’ve been outstanding, compelling TV. Maybe recreate The Flock in WWF so Raven has some backup against Taker, and even do a segment where Raven gives a DDT to Sara while Taker is handcuffed to the rope and is forced to watch, like they did with Orton, Stephanie, and HHH in 2009. The heat would’ve been nuclear!

Heck, you could have give him a little feud with HBK between two big programs to keep him occupied, with Raven trying to take advantage of Michaels' past mistakes regarding the way he was back in the 90's, add to it that Michaels can try to get Raven's stablemate to change their mind and find a healthier environment like he found.

Raven sounds like the kinda guy, who you had to hit for real in the ring. Some wrestlers wait for just the right time to punish you for disrespect. Andre put the Warrior in his place a few times. Of course they can tell on you, so you'd have to make sure to have friends in the locker room. They could defend you to the boss, or discourage the guy from telling. There have been times where, one guy hit another for real in a match. Knowing the people would think, it was part of it.

You don't know because you weren't there, Stevie had to spend every single day working with Raven on and off the ring and at the time in ECW had a closer working relationship with each other professionally but also personally knew each other very well. Raven would tell you how he was even if he may not reveal the whole story since many people, not just Stevie have their stories of Raven and how he was and they all pretty much make similar points about him, plenty of people who have been at signings who Raven had an issue with over minor things that Stevie had to step in and apologise for and try to make the situation better. It's not a 'maybe it's you if you don't get along' situation, so you're telling me someone can be a huge dick causing problems in some situations just because they have their own personal issues that they take out on people yet the person who has done nothing wrong and tried their best to do things right and even apologise, held his hands up and tried to move on was the person who had the issue? Maybe you are also a narcissist.

Although, as it was Hogan, I'm sure there was always a percentage of people who just wanted to say they'd seen one of hid matches, and who weren't even invested in the current storylines, but the Hogan character in general. Still, that's no knock on Raven. All the great heels; Piper, Jake, Flair, Lawers, all only drew when paired with an equally great babyface.
