We take a look at the Redcat Racing Valkyrie 4S MT, a 1/10 electric 4wd Monster Truck that is 4S Lipo capable! Let's see what comes in the box and take it out for its first bash.

Installing a Spektrum AVC receiver and bumping up to 7.4 volts makes a massive difference in handling. Drives perfectly straight and handles signifantly better than the Traxxas Maxx.
I can't lie, I've been watching these. Redcat has really stepped up their game. May have to get one of these. For testing purposes, of course. Lol.
the led button on the remote is a tiny flashlight, pretty cool

Bit is it as GOOD as a Granite or MT10? I have lots of RCs but no good basher MT, and looking at the 4S stuff just because we have 4s packs. Not sure what to get, but don't want a truggy style as we have an MP10T or a Nitro NB48 we could use with basher tires for that type of rig...
@@isaiahfurrow7414 it seems to be good. There’s a possible issue with the shocks that will be resolved soon and you need to consider upgrading the servo but other than that it’s solid. And the servo situation is the same basically all rtr manufacturers at this point sadly.
Looks like you might have the shock shaft problem that DoRC talks about in his video. Hopefully Redacat addresses this issue soon.
If you're a basher, then this is part of the territory. People, who bash tend to upgrade their shocks anyways.
They will! I’m gonna call them and ask them why they told me over and over that the MT10e replacement was tougher 😂 This will be brutally tough with a few small tweaks but the MT10e had excellent shocks and was tougher than the Granite and the Rival once the servo saver was upgraded and the center diff was installed.

I broke my shock shaft 2nd day seems to be a mfg issue where the threads are cut. Redcat sent me out replacement right away so far no more issues
One of the reasons the drivetrain sounds louder is because it has 6th scale diffs
Nice truck i actually think the shock problem may be because there is no way to adjust droop the arms extend farther then the shock length maybe limiting straps would help the shocks last longer just a thought 🤔
Looks like a decent car for the money. The spares are usually cheap, so as long as the shocks are not a major weaknesses it shouldn't be a major problem.
I'm really impressed with mine so far. It's not a good to drive or bash as a 4s Arrma but for the price it's close enough. The shocks need help. The springs are to soft and oil to thin. Even with lots of pre load it chassis slaps hard from small jumps. Other than that it looks great and has plenty of power.
After what you said about the shocks it sounds like we have different shocks. With lots of preload mine still has barely any rebound. If i push it down it just stays compressed. I like the truck but i do hope there are shocks out there that'll fit it to resolve the issues they have.
I did some shock tuning because I noticed the same thing. Too much damping on the front, not enough in the rear. I swapped the shock bodies front/back.

lol yea well you arguably don’t need more than one truck , arrma has worked out all the bugs to build the absolute basher , they along with traxxs set the market and at TWice prices. This Redcat is half the price with better hobbywings electronics. You’re going to need a body wheels 🛞 and electric and it will be same cost
Are there any extra accessories plug ports for lights or extra fan in it anywhere??

It’s the rod ends on the shocks are not screwed on they are pressed on At least that’s what I’ve heard. Anyway great video as always!!

That screw actually holds the hex on. The stub axle is splined rather than pin set

Unrelated to the truck, i have seen another youtuber in the same spot, i noticed a "NO RC" sign in his video, do you guys have issues bashing there? i find it weird, like, why wouldnt they allow RC in the park.

That's a lot for 4s. I would buy it just for the price. Yeah the shock rod ends are an issue, but it can be solved by getting the threaded shock shafts. But there's an issue that some of the shocks have threaded shock shafts and some have pressed in ones. I'm sure RC will solve this issue. They listen to feedback
It's a new problem, not pressed vs. threaded. Mine are threaded. The threaded portion is too thin.
I just ordered the Truggy version , getting a faster servo and Avc asap
The avc turns this truck into a smaller version of the 6s BigRock. It drives awesome. Perfectly straight, handles extremely well. They easily could have charged double the price. Amazing throttle control as well.v very pleased with this purchase!

Seen a video that only had one shock shafts that was threaded that came on his truck so they might be changing them?
Everyone keeps saying that, but I totally disagree. The shock shafts are too thin on the threaded portion, that's why it snapped.
@@RazorRC you can check it out on Do rc.. I think it was him showing the truck only had 1 threaded shock shafts then all the rest had the snap in ones... great videos though I would like to see someone run the truck tires on a typhon 6s was thinking about trying on my TLR typhon..
The all plastic design and the "strange" steering rack, are deal breaker for me.
Plastic doesn't bother me, not in this scale but interested to see if the sliding steering rack holds up? Maybe an aftermarket company will tackle that? 🤷🏻♂️
If you can get parts, this might not be too bad for a budget 4s. In my mind, the 4s is kind of like the fully optioned 3s out of the box. Metal shocks, center brace, upgraded electronics, etc. This seems to be a value 4s, which is a perfectly acceptable place to be, particularly at that price. They do need to figure out that shock issue though. Great intro review, it would have been nice to see more of it before that shock separated, but such is life.
I am wondering what makes that truck so loud if the motor or the pinions. I have the Mojave 4s and the HAIBOXING 2997a and I can’t believe how quiet the 2997a is.

definitely support redcat but you're better off just buy something quality, red cat is still on the fence on that department and I've had like at least a half a dozen of their vehicles
Looks like you’re having trouble keeping it on line for the jump. Also, 10th scale, 4s should be busting out triples. I’m seeing inexpensive if you just consider 4s, but actually, looks like you get what you pay for.
Too loud and kinda uninspiring. I do like the k10 styling.
I feel like there was gentle glasing over some key parts like this was a bought review. Im not going to get into the semantics of that but ive seen enough from this guy to know if hes not giving it some amateur flight lessons either its crap or hes afraid its crap . Had to say it . bring on the millions of people who have a pristine machete . Tell me how wonderful and unique and original redcat is . I still hold an electric tea light for redcat but thats about it . Keep sending it in whatever way you do yall
@@mathias4891 huh? I bought this truck with my own money, I’ve never talked to Redcat about anything. This is one continuous run except for a few seconds when I was adjusting the shock collars or walking over to the big jump. I drove it 8 min and then showed exactly where it broke. I was planning on going bigger but it broke before I could go to the bigger triple jumps. Not sure what you’re on about.

I was trying to imply that the way you drove it in comparison to most anything else I've seen it felt like you were constantly messing with steering or taking it easy like you weren't interested or scared to jump it . *For good reason as many of us knew.. sorry it's bizarre how some people read way too into stuff I'm just off my rocker . . Too much solder smoke for one day
@@mathias4891 that’s not the reason I didn’t do bigger jumps. I was having traction issues getting the car lined up, so came off the jump wrong about half the time. I mentioned in the video that the track was dry and dusty and needed water.

Walma*horizon.. and I'm sure my foot is back in my mouth because i didnt do my homework to see if horizon owns redcat, but i duress.. everything they have produced from my extensive knowledge of others buying things and not enjoying them as advertised leaves me with wanting...

Everyone is having trouble with the shocks, I have a friend that bought one and it has the updated shocks, I just ordered mine and I hope I get the updated ones.
When you read through the comments he says he has the upgraded, threaded shocks. Still snapped!
