Still the best RC reviewer. Fully honest and unbiased. I never doubt anything on this channel. And everything I have experienced personally with any vehicle featured on this channel has been true to the video, and vice versa. Keep doing what you're doing, Razor!
Dude, i agree with all your final thoughts. I just did the tear down yesterday and the diffs are so massive! Thanks again for pointing out the diff shim and the driveline phasing, it rolls so much better! I just did a quick video showing how to remove the diff cover, and the difference with and without the shim. I struggled with the pin so I thought others would benefit from a lil more in depth view. Redcat is killing it in 2024!
Even though these aren't available in Australia, I still like to check out these reviews. I mean, like you said, when you take the price into account, it's pretty hard to beat this truck on value. Is it better than some of the competition? Probably not. But does it offer great value? Absolutely. It didn't fall apart after a few jumps and the electrics aren't fancy paper weights, so a definite win for Redcat with this one. Great review once again. Well done. 😎👍
Thanks for checking it out! Hopefully one day Redcat makes it out to Australia, we don't get some of the cool brands out here that you guys have access to, like Team Magic or Hong Nor which is a shame.
Only 4s I've driven that out of the box is hitting 60 mph. The other thing I did, which makes it a completely different truck, is change the receiver to a Spektrum avc receiver and then bump up the bec to 7.4v. It tracks straight as an arrow now and this, without having to adjust any trims or travel. This is literally as stable doing speed runs as the 6s Big Rock. Light years more stable than the Maxx, which is a difficult truck to control when doing speed runs. Not to mention it is a good 7 mph to 10 mph faster than the Maxx at close to $300 less. If I did not already own the Maxx, no chance I would ever buy it with this now on the market. I am liking this more than my 6s Arrmas in fact. They did an outstanding job on this easily could have charged significantly more for it.
I love the redcat vehicles due to their value as well. They are getting better with every new release. I hope they start a new super tough basher buggy line soon!
Redcat actually surprised me with sending out the updated shocks without a request! I gave my Valkyier its first run with a group of friends! We had a blast running it just on 3s!
Love mine after 2 runs, it's absolutely insane on a 4s. So much torque i can pull a wheelie at 3/4 throttle. You really need to feather the brakes at full speed or risk head over heels wreck which i have experienced on grass and asphalt.
Redcat is putting out some good stuff maybe you should look at the Redcat vigilante It looks good it's a big boy I love your videos keep them coming 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Exceptional review, I was waiting for your opinion. I will wait a little longer for them to ensure the shocks are updated. This will be my first non-Arrma/Traxxas RC.
Ya definitely looks good for the price never had a redcat gonna check them out and if they keep making decent trucks they be just as good as traxxas and arrma I thought arrma was decent price wow can't belive it....
For the life of me I can’t seem to find the size but that gets that grub out of the driveshaft.. Bought a .50 off Amazon and it’s too big, what exactly is it called? Thx and great review, redcat on the up!
What? GamezofWar is on the RC-Hobby? Awesome, man! Absolutely loved your channel. A pity you stopped releasing videos. They were top-notch! Greetings from Croatia!
@@RazorRC thanks man, also my diffs were shimmed way too tight, I only had 1 shim on each diff… I removed them, did yours have 2 on each diff? If so what side did you leave 1 on?
This truck is awesome i replaced shock shafts with tekno they fit better then stock a little longer wich it needed since theres no droop adjustment the arms extend farther then stock shocks but tekno fits great arms stop before shock fully extends just needed to add some fuel line hose to shaft to keep piston from bottoming out inside shock Nothing has broken on the truck since fixing the shocks this thing is a brute better then the maxx the maxx motor mount is horible design my friend breaks his maxx everytime we bash no comparison only my second redcat love it my first redcat is the vigilante awesome 5th scale becoming my favorite and i own every other 5th scale
great review as always much more positive than i expected. why are the a arms so short btw?? amd the wheels seem pretty offset. seems like it may be a reused part?
So they made the steering knuckles massive which don’t fit in normal 1/10 2.8” wheels, so they had to make it super offset so the knuckles don’t actually go in the wheels. Which made it have to have short arms.
Hey man can you make a video for how to make a rc kit for your normal rc car so it can off-road, like a video about how to connect all suspension to to wheel the axel, electronics and etc, I have an old Toyota Land Cruiser 200 which has hard shell body and is great for this , but I have no Idea how to make it as a proper rc car😢
Has anyone else got a random email from Redcat saying you ordered front and rear shocks but you haven't? It shows the order, says it was processed but the total dollar amount is $0. I got that Saturday but never read it until after i emailed them today about my broken shock. Maybe they're sending new ones out to everyone who got the wrong ones?
Does anyone know of existing aluminum body threaded shocks that will fit this? The ones on it are 130mm long 15mm diameter according to the Redcat website. I've looked at similar vehicles but it seems everything is either 110-115mm or 150mm plus. I'm thinking of trying a set of 150mm and running less preload.
There’s too many other things that need to fit (cap length, bottom cap length, shock internals stack) that it’s unlikely something else will fit well. But I don’t think it needs alloy bodies.
Funny thing happened. I was getting my Valkyrie MT ready to take out and play around. While waiting on batteries to finish charging i see this video. I left it playing with my phone in my pocket when i got out in the yard. 10 seconds before you get to the part about the shocks i come up a little short on a backflip and land hard on the front tires. No crash, just front tires first. Turning around i notice the truck leaning. Right front shock is broken and spring is gone. I can vouch for some of them coming out with weak shock shafts. I've never broken a shock from such i gentle harsh landing. Has anyone found other shocks that'll fit yet? I've got no desire to replace it with one that'll break just as easily again.
im sorry, for me, waaaaaaaayyyy to much talk and way to little walk. For me a min vid should be 5min talk 10 min walk.( but thats just me ofc) Neverthe less, a huge thumbs UP for making a vid about our fav hobby and spreading the word!
So usually like your reviews. I fell like the emphasis should be $309 usd price tag. Redcat just established a new class. How or why would you compare it to a ktaton??? Adjust your pov sir. A 4s kraton stomps the 4s redcat. Because why? Kraton more money. I suggest you rewrite your review it to other 1/10 scale as u said “monster trucks”. Your wrong, you shouldnt review trucks that you lack scale and vision to do so. My typhon grom will whoop as on 90% of vehicles youve reviewd on your channel. Difference is i know thats not a fair comparison. You missed the point. Redcat made s 4s,1/10 scale. Duh. Arrma 4s kraton. Yeah its “1/10” as well. But its $100$ more at least.
@@Chekin6swreckinloofas thanks for your feedback, but if you’ve watched my videos I always compare based on size (wheelbase), power (4S), and type (monster truck). I never compare cars based on price.
