  • Bucharest has the largest transport network in Romania, and one of the largest in Europe. The Bucharest transport network is made up of a metro network and a surface transport network. Although there are multiple connection points, the two systems operate independently of each other, are run by different organisations (the metro is run by Metrorex and the surface transport network by Societatea de Transport București. The two companies used separate ticketing systems until 2021, when a new smartcard was introduced alongside the old tickets, which allows travel on both the STB and the Underground. ~Wikipedia

Interesting! The bus fleet is made out of Mercedes-Benz Citaro (from 4100 to 4599 for Euro 3 and 4600 to 4999 and from 6200 to 6299 for the Facelift Euro 4 ones), 400 Otokar Kent C (from 6300 to 6349 for 10 meter, 6400 to 6720 for 12 meter ones (except for 6502 which is a Lohner tram at Dudești Depot) and from 6800 to 6829 for articulated 18 meter ones), Mercedes-Benz Citaro Hybrid (from 7000 to 7129). For trolleybuses: Astra Ikarus 415T (from 5100 to 5299. Some of them are scrapped, so I don't know exactly which ones are still in service, but mostly from 51xx ones) and Irisbus Citelis (from 5301 to 5400. Last 2 trolleybuses are using AC motors with inverter, which are 5399 and 5400). And for trams, there are models that are mixed with others, so I'll show you based on model type and inventory number:

    Yes, is a variety.
Remember: Bucharest Romania has 3 company: STB, for Bucharest, STV Voluntari and Ilfov and STCM for Chitila and Mogoșoaia.

Nice video! It's really interesting and fun to see newer Western European and older Eastern European/Soviet buses and trolleys run side by side in the formerly communist but now Western aligned countries of Eastern Europe.

Variety is something in transit that countries NEED. It's one of the reason Japan is so advanced, they have 10 different Trains for one line, and they also have other options as well. Romania, of course, isn't Japan level sure, but it's a great start

Thank you for another very interesting vdeo. The various vehicles generally looked to be well kept. It is thus a pity that one metro line seems to be plagued by Graffiti, making me (briefly) think the we were in (say) Rome or Athens.

Said metro trains (IVA) will be taken out of operation in the next year or so, when the new ones arrive, so no more Graffiti on the metro. Other than that, you are correct, the vehicles are fairly well kept.
