  • Contrary to popular belief, John Lennon did NOT play the Rhythm and Solo Guitar, as some might believe due to its hectic and dirty quality.
    Although, as many others and myself believe, the Rhythm and Solo Guitar was in fact played by George, and the 12 string guitar part by John, on his new Rickenbacker 320/12 (More information on this topic can be found on ‪@GearThereEverywhere‬ video EP.1
    The double tracked Guitar Solo on the Stereo Mix (heard on Past Masters) may already sound rushed and hectic, although, listening to the original 1964 Mono Mix from the Long Tall Sally EP proves the original unaltered version of the Solo was far worse.
    (1964 Mono Mix - • Video )
    The Mono Guitar Solo begins identically to the Stereo Version, but after a while the 2 Guitars begin to stray from eachother into a garbled mess of discordant notes and riffs. I have attempted to replicate that solo here (with both guitars panned in different channels, as to lesser the discordant sound a little)
    The solo, original and recreated, is quite hard to listen to, but knowing that this song was recorded among 3 others during the session, the rushed nature can be forgiven.
    In my video, the first overdubbed solo (Heard in full on the Stereo Mix) is placed on the top of the screen and panned to the right channel. The second, sloppy overdub in placed at the bottom half of the screen and panned of course to the left channel.
    George's Rhythm playing throughout the track isn't much to write home about, not nearly as intruiging as the double tracked solo and is what it is.
    I hope you enjoyed the video! please stick around for more videos to come in the future!! :)

    **DISCLAIMER**
    The solo featured in this cover is taken from the original Mono Mix of the song heard here: th-cam.com/video/k5xzCIy8xtE/w-d-xo.html
    I feel it necessary to mention that the guitar solo featured in this cover isn't from the Past Masters edition of the song, instead, it's taken from the original Mono Mix of the song from 1964.
    This includes (as shown) a double tracked guitar solo from George, which for the most part is fine, until the mid section when both guitars begin to play differing licks. This is intended to be a near 100% accurate version of that solo.

    Fantastic playing mate! Excellent song choice for the first cover on the country gent. Didn’t know it had a dual solo. The gent nails the early Beatles sound. Can’t wait to see more of the gent.

      I never realised how awful the solo was until I heard the Mono Version!! Glad you enjoyed Luke :)

    With only the guitars heard esp. at the beginning it sounds like John Lennon’s Got To Serve Yourself.
    Great playing, thank you!

    Shit, could’ve sworn John played this part on his 325.😂😂 Sick job bro. And congrats on the CG!!😉😜
    What actually happened to the Electromatic?😜Did you give it away or what’s the matter?🙂🙃

      I believe he sold it to get the Gent.

    • @LucaColaMusic
      @LucaColaMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a misconception that John played it on the 325 haha! It's most likely George on the Country Gent ;)
      By the way I traded the electromatic for cash at the store I bought it from :)

    Um I've heard some people say tat Carl Perkins himself played the rhythm guitar.

    • @LucaColaMusic
      @LucaColaMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Beatles met and jammed with Carl during this day, but it's not verified whether he played guitar on any tracks, which it is unlikely he did

    • @LucaColaMusic
      @LucaColaMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ilovemusic7748 Definitely George on the Rhythm and Solo on the BBC version too. The style is not John's at all. Same line up for the BBC except it sounds like they could be using J160-E's
