I was gonna comment about why the negative reviews might exist, then I googled what a level 500 class is. These are students in masters programs idk why they expect a grade for effort, instead of objective measuring.
Thanks for your insight! I grew up in a K-12 system where "Effort" was graded 1 through 3. 1 meant "best effort," whereas 3 meant "worst effort." However, after high school, I no longer felt attached to that system. It would be great to do some sort of research project based on how that kind of effort-rating system has impacted or continues to impact how students expect to be graded in their undergraduate and graduate courses. Thanks for watching!
@@drdaleyknowskidlit I was given a few pity passing grades in highschool otherwise I wouldn't have graduated 12th grade. Did not do me any favors if I was planning to go to college! I have a hypothesis that it negatively impacts students and higher learning unless they have an epiphany or an event wisens them up to the real world.
Thanks for watching! I know that some K-12 education systems have a grade for "Effort," so I'm wondering if that has to do with why some students want effort to be factored in their grade. It still is a conundrum for me since I am in higher education and effort is not regarded in the same way.

Regardless of level of study, why are you expecting a grade for effort? Makes no sense.
