    Hello! I want to leave a comment in support of your channel and you personally. I speak Russian, but at your request I accept the rules that you talked about in the video about closing the second channel. I want to thank you for your videos, for sharing unique information, and express my admiration for your art! I have been dreaming of making guitars for a long time. What they showed and told in their videos turned my idea of many things upside down! I am glad that you had a Russian-language channel, it allowed me to get acquainted with your work. So it was not in vain. And I think not only for me.

    All my guitars have Centralab pots, I bought them when they were still cheap. I agree with Joe Bonamassa, that half the tone is in the pots

    Best videos and information on the net on everything les paul. Aiming to make a 59 rep soon as I am able. Gathering as much Koss info and pictures first , only your pickups will be up to the mark. Have to be sure which are nearest Paul Kossoff clean and gain tones before ordering. Still viewing all your vids. Thanks so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge.Respect.

    Vintage Inspired pickups in the USA make Centralab clone pots for the same price as a modern CTS pots. Best pots available Infact Gibson themselves are now using them on some guitars

    Thank you for the video. Studying the wire diagrams of Flying V, I noticed maybe a more important detail than the tone wiring. The wiring of the pickup and volume pot was different in the 50's, I think the tonal balance should change differently than in later circuits when adjusting the volume. And of course such a circuit will give noticeably more hum playing with the potentiometer lowered.

    Great Video. I use CTS Burst Pots from Crazy Parts with 550k, and I use Nos russian PIO Caps all in 50`s wiring.

      Hi, which values do you choose for the Bridge and neck pick-up PIO capacitors?

    • @8BombCustom
      @8BombCustom  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      0.022 - 0.029. But i love 0.015 in neck. All caps are fifferent in sound. You need to try many of those.

    The volume and tone is more interactive wired 50s where Modern, the volume taper falls dramatically at 7. 50s let you hear sounds down to one on the knob…. But there is magic happening when you lower the volume and tone and then set your amp normal and that way you can play the amp having a little more without anything but the knobs…… who knew?!?!?! Haha

    50's wiring as it's called (actually both way's were used) is a mistake electronically. It doesn't actually keep it brighter, it alters the mid resonant freq. Problem is it makes the tone control useless. In fact it acts almost like a volume and really screws the taper of the volume pot. This among other things is why everybody abandoned it for the correct way,( cap on input lug of vol pot ). I just turn my guitar to 8 or 9 adjust my tone then if I turn guitar all the way up, just back off the tone a couple. This way I maintain the proper function of the controls and keep even tone. If you dont use your tone I guess it doesn't matter, but if that's the case just disconnect it then no cap at all. And if you keep tour guitar vol on 10 all the time either way is the same as the 2 lugs on the vol are shorted together. I still know people who haven't advanced to actually using both vol and tone knobs yet. Hell, Eddie had no tone control at all. Some very good pro's like R.Ford keep both on 10. He just seems to use clean and dirty for the changes. If you play with other guitars in the band that's not allway's a good option. It also really screw's up the middle position on a 4 knob set up like an LP.

    Soldered, with vintage wiring, the volume is lost when the tone is reduced, or is it just me?

    • @8BombCustom
      @8BombCustom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the volume go away a little wheh the ton is reduced.

    I came from a Russian channel. So I will continue to watch and practice English.
    I just wanted to say that what you do is very important to me. I was very upset when I watched your last video.
    Too many conclusions, more indirect than direct.
    I understand you and support you in this decision.
    Just not ready to leave and not receive this information.
    For the Russian-speaking TH-cam and the guitar community this is a huge loss.
    In any case… I wish you to continue your work and thank you for this work.
    I think I'm not alone those who care and need to stay with you.
