I was also struggling with an overgrown undercut so my barber cut my hair with this same approach. It looks much more balanced now and purposeful. It feels lighter too. He did a horrible job styling it though with pomade and very intense blow drying to the point of Troll-doll-frizz-fest. I thought I was F'd at first but I rinsed it off and styled it myself and now it looks great. 😅I wish more barbers knew how to style thick wavy, curly hair.
