My thirteen year old niece was being bullied so bad in school that she became extremely regressed and borderline suicidal. Her mom moved away from her when she was just a baby and my mother and I have been raising her since. She had enough problems coping and didn't need bullies making her life worse. When I approached the school about what was going on they did absolutely nothing about the situation and even went as far as denying the problem. We pulled her out of school, and she has now been home schooled for the last year. I am so happy to have my niece back to her happy, bright and beautiful self again. Bullying is not okay and can be more dangerous than people choose to realize.

I dealt with female bullies at my school as a male... I often fought the male bullies, but as I was in high school in the 1970s, there was no fighting back against female bullies if you were a guy. The best thing to do then was to smile and walk off while they hurled verbal abuse. I fought one male bully whose sister tried to attack me for fighting her brother, who got in serious trouble for starting a fight with me for no reason. The best part was she was heard and seen by a teacher and she got suspended for two days for keeping the problem going. lol.

Nah dude, she didn’t talk down to them. She talked to them like SHE was afraid of getting hurt. She was way too nice about it and unfortunately, that’s the exact type of personality that adult bullies look out for. I’d probably be just like her unfortunately because of how meek I am. She definitely needs a more aggressive stance when approaching bullies because if this were real, it wouldn’t surprise me if the bullies bullied her back

I appreciate her standing up for him, but she was way too nice. Real bullies don't care about other people's feelings, her being nice isn't gonna awake some inner angel in the bullies that they didn't know was there. No, they're just gonna wait for her to go and come back later. Take an aggressive stance tho, actually talk down to them and make them feel bad, and they're gonna feel like they're gonna get in trouble.
I was bullied as a kid, my grandma tried the nice approach by calmly explaining to the bullies that they should be good and not go down this path and blah blah blah. What happened? They went away, then tomorrow they were right there again.
My dad on the other hand was not calm at all and took the aggressive stance, he contacted all of their parents and made all the kids come straight to my house 1 by 1 to apologize and promise that they will never repeat this again. One kid was even too scared to come and ring the doorbell, thinking that maybe someone was waiting for him to beat him up. He called my dad and INSISTED I come out the door so that he can apologize lol. What happened after that? None of them bullied me again, they even greeted me awkwardly when we would pass each other.
Imo the last guy reacted the best out of everyone, held a firm ground, really insulted them, took control of the situation and just looked intimidating in general.
