I don't think it's possible to understand how good leo is. I mean, do anyone realize that we will probably never witness a player like him again in this sport. It's just too much. He is the complete player. He got it all. He has transcended the game of football. Everything before him should be known as the pre-messi era, and after he quits, it will be the post messi era. Because during his active years, the art of football got taken to new levels, new dimensions, such that will never be seen again. I don't think people appreciate him enough. When he quits, football will NEVER be the same again. Never. Please appreciate him. He is a gift from god, enjoy while it lasts. Because what he does on the pitch is greater than the symphonies of mozart, the art of picasso and the stories of shakespear. This little man, has a larger legacy than any of us will ever understand. he has, and will inspire endless amounts of people to achieve greatness and fulffill their dreams. He is without a doubt in my opinion the greatest athlete of all time. Nobody was as good as he was in his sport. He absolutely dominated statistics but stats don't define him at all. He plays the game at a such a diff and unthinkable level its absolutely mesmerizing. I cant even put words to describe this human. Such a special human being here off and on the field. This music sounds so beautiful and poetic, it matches perfectly with messi. I just cant stop but tear up every time i see this video. I cant believe that this man is real and that we all have witness someone so great that brings so much joy in this sport. I will tell my kids about this man here and i hope they continue his name. When I watch this video, the stats, the records, I tell myself that there is no debate possible. leo's performance this season is the best performance in football history and quite possibly will be forever. I've been interested in football for 2 years now, and the more I learn about the past but also the present, the more I watch video showing the best moments of the best players in football history, the more I realize that Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer in history and by far, far. Cristiano, Pelé, Maradona, Cruyff, do not even have 3/4 of his talent. This little guy marked the history of sport, or even history itself. I have no more words to characterize what is the greatest talent in the history of mankind.

I always have the same thoughts watching Messi's season highlights. None of the other players have career highlights that would look anything close to this, Leo does it practically every season and some fans choose to not watch this greatness.
Not just his dribbles or out-of-no-where goals but his ability to withstand immense pressure, control the ball in tight spaces, nick off the ball from the opponent just in time and especially latching onto seemingly overhit passes or loose balls are underrated assets of his impressive skillset.

Nah cr7 does not have more longevity. Cr7 started his career early but started shining about the same time as Messi 06/07. When they both started . Cr7 entered his prime in 2008 and Messi started his prime in 2009.

2011-2012 is Messi's best year.He was a beast.He is still the best but in this season he was in another level.He has so many nutmegs in 2011-2012 which is awesome💙❤.It's a shame Barca was unlucky in 2011-2012.
The little push he makes with the ball when running is so perfectly weighted it allows him to continue forward with momentum and control. Its almost surreal to watch how perfect it almost always is

Messi 2012 and Maradona 1986 are the greatest single seasons by any player ever.
His playing style is incredible. His dribbling is often simple but very effective, he always finds the right pass or assist to his team mates, he doesnt just strike the ball with full power to score but he dribbles the entire defence and then scores it with a easy finish. And it worked, because he scored 73 goals and had 27 assists that season. The most intelligent footballer of all time.

This is surely his best season when we speak about goals & assists, but overall I would rank it just afterr 2008-09, 2014-15 & 2010-11 where he has been more complete by winning team trophies and making amazing performances in the crucial games! Great work Henrik, as always.

I think 09-10 is one level above 08-09.Many people don't acknowledge it but this was the major breakthrough of Messi being regarded from world's best in 08-09 to the generational legendary talent that he is, especially at the last half when he put up some unbelievable performances in Ch.l and La Liga (Arsenal,Zaragoza,Valencia,
Stuttgard etc).
When in 08-09 it was mostly the breakthrough of the legendary Barcelona Pep team with Messi being the best player of this team.
From next season people started realizing what we were witnessing and compared him to myths of the game.

I think this was my favorite Messi year, even if they didn't win the UCL. He was, as always, untouchable, but that season he was so far beyond anyone else it was staggering.
