Seeing many great players like Zidane, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Henry, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Iniesta, Xavi, Suarez, Ibra etc etc... I can say no one comes even near Messi, I mean prime Messi (2008-2015).... He was simply in his own league, his own universe. Many people say Cristiano is better, or on the same level with Messi... Not even close, Ronaldo only catches Messi as a goalscorer, but the difference Messi did on the pitch was another universe compared to Ronaldo. Some say Ronaldinho was better... I can understand Ronaldinho was maybe more fun to watch for some, but Messi was on another level when it came to dribbling in insanely tight areas, going through multiple players, doing it against top oppponts, all the time for years and years. When it came to passing Ronaldiho was maybe a touch better, but Messi was scoring like three times more goals so the overall difference is huge. Also another universe compared to Zizou, Kaka, Henry etc etc..
Messi is unreal. I remember when I was about 14 years old at school and there was this talk about a young player who just was incredible. I'm now nearly 32 and that same player has broke countless records through out the years and just won the world cup. He has left the the biggest, most behemoth sized legacy in football and is still competing and putting out outstanding stats to this day. Unreal player.
He is an alien. One thing i admire about him above all else is that he does not cheat the game. He does not dive, rarely complains to the ref and never shouts at his team mates.
Watching him live is just unreal, I was lucky enough to see him twice. First time in 2008 vs Valladolid, he didn’t score but it was a great match, ended 6-0 and I got to watch my favorite player (Henry) score as well.
