O yes I seen may crazy things in slot car wiring in my club days so many always wanted me to do there tracks because they botched it all up! I always solder everything so nothing can come lose. Marty when I use those spade connectors I don't only crimp the wire in I make it go to the very end of the hole in them so when your done crimping it you can just solder across the wire and the hole in the end of them so you know you have a good connection 👍👍
Looking at your terminations, it appears the wires are not placed correctly on the terminal strips. Wires should go around a screw in a clockwise direction. When the screw is tightened, it pulls the wire into the terminal. Done the other way (counter clockwise), tightening the screw pushes the wire out.
Hey Marty, a little bit off-topic. I have to change a split gear on my axle on a slot it car , gonna have to buy a mini hex Allen key set with handle. Do you know if those are usually metric or American size? In any recommendations on where to get a set of those thanks brother..👍🏎️🏎️🏎️🙌🥁🎸
I am happy it was a Joey weekend 🏁

Yes, no issues since..

Most of them are metric.. the hex sizes are usually .9, 1.3, 1.5
I have picked up a couple of sets at Harbor Freight and they have the sizes included.
