I am a few years late to the party, but still use similar setups even for smaller fish trout etc, course scaled down. Catch everytime. BTW love the baby sounds. 😃
Thank you for the video! Do you ever run a stronger lb test from your main line swivel to the flasher, than to the hoochie? Simply to prevent loss of your flasher if the line snaps?
Great video with good info. I will be fishing CDA Lake next weekend. It's hot weather so I am not too sure what rig will work for me. Shooting in the dark...
If your going after chinook you should use an 11" Pro troll flasher with a 2.5 inch hoochie or fly. fishing has been supppppper slow though! Good luck to you!
@@walkingonwaterfishing I just realized you had responded to my comment. Thank you. I ended up having some boat/electrical issues right as I got to CDA so I drove on to Sagle to fish Ponderay for the Rainbows instead. My sister lives near Garfield bay so we fished there and also out of Hope. None boated but beautiful scenery and time well spent with my sister.
Hi Jon, I wanted to express my gratitude for the excellent video tutorial on setting up a boat for salmon fishing. As a beginner, I found it incredibly helpful. Fishing has become my new hobby, and your guidance has made the process much smoother. What are the right rod and reel for this boat salmon fishing that you recommend for me?
Do you like flashers or dodgers better for big hoochies and flies? I’ve only ever used flashers with lures that already have their own action. I never thought to try this

Those hoochies are the bomb!
in the river like the Rogue bay would you still use the inline sinker or the cannonball sinker method & what size hoochie?
4 inch hoochie with a dropper cannon ball for sure
Love the videos man! Keep it up!

Very welcome! I would recommend Okuma Guide select pros for the rod perfect for 360 fishing and an Okuma cold water reel
@@walkingonwaterfishing Thank you very much for quick response. I just ordered them.
The only hoochies you’re allowed to mess around with 😉
That's right baby!!

I prefer a flasher for the bigger hoochies personally. Yeah the flasher with the hoochie provides a nice slow presentation!
What flasher are you using
@@jakenbar1 I use shortbus flashers now
I like those colors dad.
Are we going to see a “Prep for 2023 The Big One”?
