    I was coho fishing the other day and changed out my flasher from a Gibbs to a short bus pole dancer and forgot to snap my duo-lock and put the setup over the side and watched it disappear down to Davey jones locker, sucked! Short bus flashers do work btw!

    so whats the benefit VS just a cut plug herring (cured in pro cure). New to a lot of this stuff growing up it was just whole herring with divers we almost never varied and now that i have my own boat and I'm learning this stuff I've found your videos immensely helpful keep em coming absolutely love you guys

      Im with ya there, i was in the same boat 3 years ago! With the water temps being the way they are help keeps the bait on the hooks! Water temps and tide movement depends alot of what you decide to use, spinners, superbait, cut plugs or bait! You kind of have to experiment and find out the hot ticket. I hope that helps. Tight lines

    Gents, how are you? I have a quick question. I am fairly new to trolling for salmon and I fish from a kayak using triangle flashers due to drag. My questions are? early morning low light spring fishing what colors work for you? Mid day color change for flashers and lures? Any advice you can share with a newbie Kayak fisherman? Thanks

    What line weight on that Okuma Guide Select Classic rod? 15-30lb or 20-40lb? I'm guessing the 20-40lb (XH rod power).

    Great video as usual, I've learned a ton from the crew at addicted fishing. You also need to know your videos have help sell many dollars worth of tackle. Brad's, Okuma and those scents you push owe you. One question for you. Did the barbed hook rule come back for the Columbia River for the 2020 season?

    Please do more tips on fishing from the banks. Not all of us have a boat.
    I’m really losing my shit going out everyday coming up empty handed.
    It’s either a tangled mess, or zero action.
    I went out to Multnomah channel 4 times 6-8 hours out on the water and not a single bite Nothing.
    I use all of your gear based on the videos, my rigs are nice so can’t blame the equipment.
    Maybe i just suck!
    For spring Chinook i’m using a spin N glo set up. I’m also using an addicted fixed float, jigs, spinners.
    Had a bite on a Blue Fox thinking it was a Walley but it got off, that is as close as i got lol.
    Btw Addicted gear is pretty damm good!

      DV Redleg In our experience its better without the breakaway. To each there own though, confidence is key no matter what you use.

      Addicted Fishing agreed. Just wanted to get your opinion on the matter. I actually switched to them a couple years ago after seeing y’all do a thing on them. They have their advantages and disadvantages for sure. Haven’t fished them enough i guess to get a true guess. Hard to steer away from my triangles. Lol I swear specially in the ocean triangle out fish a 360 5 to 1 for me out here in Westport and up in Neah Seiku too. I usually only fish 360’s when I’m gonna fish deeper than 100 feet. Still learning the Big C

  • @lyoung7607

    I'm confused. Trolling depth calculators seem to say that if you are going 3mph with a 16oz weight you need to have tons of line out to fish bottom. What is your ratio of depth counter depth to actual water depth at 3mph sog? Please help! Lol

    • @lyoung7607
      @lyoung7607 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ask this because you said in video that the water was 30ft so 35 on depth counter would put you at bottom. But compared to trolling charts it seems like your line counter would need to be at like 90ft

  • @davidharrison6805

    Instead of using VIP Line lock, just use a piece of shrink wrap tubing over the barrel swivel and the O ring of the chain beed. While heating the tubing be careful not to singe the main line.

    Boat speed?

    • @Oregon629
      @Oregon629 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Boat speed is not the metric you want to monitor, it is the pump of the rod. The boat speed will vary depending on current, but it is the Water speed/action of the rod that matters. The boat speed will be faster following the current to maintain a certain "water speed" or pump of the rod. On the other hand, going upstream (current), the boat will go slower to maintain the same water speed/rod action.

    Unless you want to get hit by his boat trailer on the way out, I wouldn’t go with him. He hit my friend on the way out of Scappoose Bay. Marina didn’t give insurance and hasn’t seen him cents I wouldn’t pay $1000 to get a seat on a boat with him.
