Mancera must keep their perfumers locked in a dungeon working overtime! A most prolific house. I've noticed they seem to have a unique approach to musk. Overall I enjoy their fragrance aesthetics. I love this fragrance it's so well done. I find it very sweet and spicy on my skin. I don't like orange in perfume but it's different for this sent. I agree it is different than Bacarat 540. There is vanilla in this beauty and it is thicker. Love at first sniff. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Instant Crush was an instant love for me, bought it right on the spot. What's funny is that it really did smell like BR540 upon the very first spray but then it quickly changed direction and now i don't even get the BR540 similarities anymore when i spray it. Awesome review sir👍🏽
I just bought my first two niche fragrances - Cedrat Boise and this one and I'm stoked to get my nose on it. I'm a woman that gravitates towards men's scents as opposed to womens only because they have a tendency to be a little too sweet and floral for me, but scents marketed towards men are right up my alley. My signature scent is Versace Dylan Blue. I had a 3.4oz that I sold and I ended up getting the 6.8ozer cuz I love it so much as does my girlfriend and other people who've smelled it. I'm looking to dive more into the niche side of things cuz I'm tired of smelling the same old DNAs over and over again and I want something that will help me stand out in a crowd and won't have me smelling like everyone else. Great review!
Oh my God Eric!! The SSP was one of my all time favorite toys along with click clacks , hot wheels , battling tops , & rock 'em sock 'em robots!! I had a purple one :) Loved that car & the sound it made . I'm going to try to get a sample of this . I'm not a big fan of Mancera & only own one (Hindu Kush) but , this one I'll probably try . This doesn't smell like BR540 to me unless you're comparing it to the BR540 EDP. I get more of a Initio Side effect vibe off it, but they're not the same, and this is a bargain for the price. Great fragrance, and great review.

Like I told another reviewer, there are only so many ways to combine/ blend notes. There are bound to be 'smell-alikes'. Unless the perfumer says otherwise, its a standalone fragrance.
My brother would rip the SSP chord so quickly that he'd strip the plastic teeth from it, and I was sitting there with a car and no power... I'm not letting him near my Mancera bottles.

I agree that fragrances aren't gendered but people have preferences. Letting your audience know if a fragrance has a feminine or masculine lean is helpful for your audience to decide whether or not to sample or blind buy a fragrance.

You'd better be damned sure about the notes, and what you like, before shelling out your hard earned cash for a fragrance, scent unsniffed. ALWAYS Sample first! This scent to me is half 540 and half dirty and animalic. You said you don't notice the 540 part but I notice it all the way through but it 's fighting the dirty side the whole way. I hated it. To me it takes the 540 DNA and kills the very heart that makes it so good to my nose. My wife tried it on and I had to make her take a bath.I had to give it away. However if you like this you'll like Parfums de Marley Kalan which basically does the same thing with the dirt and 540... gave that away to. Note I love a lot of Mancera and I'm a super fan of Parfums de Marley. Both were blind buys because I love the houses and love 540 but was a waste of money for me. Luckily I got both at way off retail price.

The longevity and scent bubble is epic. Look if you hear people say its sweet, its not sickening sweet. Its just a masterpiece. At some point you will wont smell it but the people around you will be smelling you. This happened to after I sprayed on my clothes. So 14 hours later, my colleagues asked what I had just put on. Little did they know I had applied it 14hours ago

I thought he was closer to Boston (definitely East Coast though). I mean, he sounds like a quintessential NYC/NJ Italian (or maybe everyone from those areas sounds like that I guess), but then the way he pronounces certain things with a Bostonian twang (car=cawh for example) leaves me scratching my head (or do people in NYC/NJ pronounce it like that too?). I don't know, wherever he's from originally, I dig the accent! 😄

I thought he was closer to Boston (definitely East Coast though). I mean, he sounds like a quintessential NYC/NJ Italian (or maybe everyone from those areas sounds like that I guess), but then the way he pronounces certain things with a Bostonian twang (car=cawh for example) leaves me scratching my head (or do people in NYC/NJ pronounce it like that too?). I don't know, wherever he's from originally, I dig the accent! 😄
