I live in Colorado, I camp in Kansas because you don't have hundreds of people at every lake . Quiet and peaceful. Way better fishing too
Was raised in the 70’s in southern Colorado…beautiful place before the influx of people. People everywhere…on every damn lake and river and stream.
Good Video! My family lives in Nebraska, I work in Oklahoma. I've traveled through Kansas for over 40 years now. They're are some really cool things to see in Kansas, if you get off the interstates. Thanks for the video! God Bless!
Jewel County State lake is a great spot. Smaller but real nice.
Welcome to KS - you guys have by far the BEST campground tours in the area! Thank you for all your work!
Please keep our state fishing lakes clean. This lake has a no trash policy. Please take your trash with you as there is no trash dumpster.
Great reminder! I'll be sure to mention that when I record some of the other state fishing lakes.
As I child I got my foot cut from broken glass in keystone lake in oklahoma, there's no excuse for crap like that in the water or land. Sickens me to see garbage and furniture discarded on public lands.
@@moosehand8721 Agree!
Looks like good phesant hunting, got me thinking next fall now 😎
Could be good bird Hunting if there is agriculture in area
Chase County is very cool.
Scott City Lake will surprise you.
I'll put it on the list to check out next time I'm in that area!
I think its the best lake in western kansas.....
Try Wilson Lake on I70 West.
Definitely on the list. Lucas is one of the few tourist attractions that I never got to visit in my younger years.
Don't go to El dorado lake. Bad camping spots to close together and way to expensive. Very disappointed
I moto camped there feb 2024 and was delighted. Only problem was sustained 20 mph winds
Can't escape the Kansas winds
So unlike insatiable oklahoma recreational fee gimmicks they make their fees off hunting and fishing licenses rather than exploiting camp fees im guessing.
Yep. State Parks too. Those aren't free like the state fishing lakes
Department of Wildlife lakes in Oklahoma have free camping. American Horse is my favorite. Great fishing since they cleaned it out after the flood a while back. Now it's not all 1/2 pounders.
@@TobyJames000 That looks like a nice one! I camped at Canton Lake as a kid. Been thinking about going there for a video sometime. If I do, I'll visit American Horse while I'm nearby.
@@CampgroundRecon I highly recommend doing so. Personally, I think it's the most beautiful lake in the state.
I live in Wichita and noticed that lake Cheney just outside of Wichita is just about to dry up. The water level is like 30ft below normal, not sure why but it sure did catch my attention that something wasn't right . . .
Hope it fills up soon!
I will watch every Kansas campground tour you make! Thank you for the video! Subscribed!
I should have another from Kansas very soon
@@CampgroundRecon No please stop. No need to publicize our peace:)
I had forgotten about this place. Thanks ! I always enjoy your videos and use them often for reference !
Very Timely video for us. We will be passing here in early May 2024. Obvious candidate for a video for my channel. However, your video will/is much better than mine. I will make sure to put a link to your video. We were going to skip Tallgrass but now I think it worth visiting thanks to you. See you on the next video..
Definitely worth a quick stop even if you don't tour it all.
Awsome i live 2 hours from there
Awesome! Are there any Kansas campgrounds that you'd like us to visit? We'll have a few more this year.
Go look at mcpherson state fishing lake, free roaming bison awsome place, let me know when you go i will buy lunch and show you other places if you like
@@CampgroundRecon We live in Colorado, but stay at Kannapolis Lake state park a lot when we just want to get away and sit and relaxe on a lake. It's a COE campground and one of our favorites.
@@papatravels61 I recorded drone video at Coronado Heights recently and plan on using it in a video of McPherson State Fishing Lake! I was short on time and wanted to include Maxwell in the video too. I might make it sometime in March.
@@Starbreaker666 It's on my list too. Isn't it the one with some caves along a creek or river a short drive north of the lake?
Woodson County State Fishing lake is another great one, and Cross Timbers State Park (known locally as Toronto Lake) is just a few miles west of the State fishing lake in case you need more amenities or a larger lake.
Spent a lot of time in the late 70's at Toronto and Fall River. Was out there briefly last September
