This is just a poor answer lazy attempt to catch up with the competition. The interior is dated, both in looks and tech. Not much work done on the engine and suspension. Toyota just went to a dbn and got a body kit and some dbn sound. Nxa

I'd take this one if money wasn't an issue it's priced better that Isuzu At35 truck and the Ford Raptor,and it looks good better than that first Gr badged Hilux.

They killed the exterior, really looks great. This unfortunately does not go toe to toe with the Raptor in terms of power, looks or tech but it should still sell well.

This ute is based of the outgoing hilux 8th gen. Toyota couldn't make a hard core that could 100% fight the Raptor, as they are working on the Incoming gen. Expect change in power and performance, different gear speeds in the 9th gen.
Nothing GR about this. Go Ranger Raptor if you want to know what GR should be.
Even off road performance it's not comparable well when it comes to fast off road drive. It doesn't have the chops for it

Many people compare this Toyota GR Sport with the current 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor. They are wrong. This Toyota GR Sport should be compared to the out gone 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor.

@@kumbimoncars This is the same Toyota Hilux which was first introduced in 2017. Compared to other bakkies like Ford Ranger ( Raptor), in this Toyota Hilux GR Sport you are buying an expensive old new car with old technology, old engine. Toyota is going to launch a new Toyota Hilux early next year or late next year with new platform new technology and new engines with hybrid technology. I suggest we wait and be patient.

Im a Hilux driver 2 Fortuners, 2 Toyota Hilux’s vurrently the 4x4 RS. But sadly the Tech is just shocking in 2024 for a car over 1 Bar its just a waste. The problem is i love Toyota but at the end will move along eventually
You are very right. This Toyota Hilux GR Sport should be compared with the 2021/2 Ford Ranger Raptor SE not the current 2023/24 Ford Ranger Raptor. The latter has new technology, new platform, new powerful engine whereas the Toyota is just a facelift with old technology same platform and same 2.8 diesel engine.
That's why it's reliable

The hilux gs is not a Challenger to the raptor never was intended to be and never will be. Talking totally different beasts. The hilux gr is equivalent to the wildtrack.
The GR Hilux 3 Mzansi need Fortuner GR also .it's already Fortuner GR 2 elsewhere .
At least Toyota could have changed the tail lamp, it's still old design 😢
...i would prefer a longer truck bed but with a narrower body...a vehicle with a wide body will be difficult to drive along narrow pathways....just sayin'....

bigger coz of fenders only. I've spent $$$ to replace the stock KYB shocks as it is very uncomfortable thinking you spent more money for an upgrade than getting a regular Hilux. totally scammed by reliability and new face but the interior is still from the 90s. lol
What suspension did u fit on?
It's not just the fenders, the wheel track is about 100mm wider, with a longer rear axle and spaced out front wishbones.
