I just wanted to say thank you for all the feedback from past questions. Its so awesome that you reach out and answer all of them (I noticed). Your so helpful and talented. Once again thank you !!!
Hi Mary, thanks for this super helpful video! What type of paint is best used on coir doormats? I'm seeing a mix of people use acrylic while others use enamel. What do you think will last the longest? Tips would be appreciated! :)
Thank you, glad it was helpful. No I have not found any, but I also am not looking to buy in bulk, so I have never searched. I sell about 10-30 a month, so I just go and stock up at ikea. 😊
Hello! I purchase my shipping labels from Etsy. The options I choose are priority mail> my own packaging> measurements: 16X16X6 & the weight is rounded up to 4 lbs. Let me know if you don’t understand that.
Happy to hear this video is helpful! I live in Texas. Shipping prices vary, but all other cities/towns in TX are $8 for shipping. New York is $18. That is the most expensive postage I’ve ever paid.
Once you make your doormat, you have to roll it up as tight as you can, the goal is for the packaging to be as small as possible, without damaging the doormat of course. This particular doormat, which is the smaller one from ikea, measures out to 6 inches wide and the height & length is 16 inches. So you just put that in your measurements. Depending on where it’s going, Etsy gives you the price and you just purchase it. Or if your purchasing on your own, you can enter those measurements on the USPS website. Let me know if you don’t understand, I can make a quick little video for you. 😊
Thank you so much for this quick and great respond! That would be great and I think you would have lots of views cause a lot of people have trouble with shipping and crazy prices!
I want to start shipping my mats (I’ve just been selling locally and doing delivery myself but it’s a pain!) And I want to use this method but my worry is how the mat looks when it’s opened, like will it go back flat? Hopefully that makes sense lol! Xx
Oh amazing! Thank you sooo much, I’ve been trying to find the answers to this for so long! You’re a life saver! My little business can now grow 🙌🏻💕 xxx
They have polymail bags at dollar tree or Walmart that you can use. When I first started, I would use them because my orders were slow and I didn’t want to buy a lot of bags if I didn’t know if I was going to use them all. If they don’t have ones big enough (my stores do) you can use 2 of them.
Well, the doormat is $5-$10 depending on where you get it and the size. The paint I use is $8 for the big bottle (a small bottle is $2.50 at Walmart), which I can use on up to 10 doormats or even more depending on what design or quote/saying it is. The vinyl is about .50 cents, but of course I buy in bulk. The heat transfer vinyl was about $13 for the pack I believe, that you can also use plenty of times, you just have to use the technique I use to maximize the usage. And brushes are about $5 for the pack which you can use plenty of time before replacing if you wash them after each use. You can start with about $30 or so though then buy stuff in bulk to minimize your cost. Doormat: $5 at ikea or $6 at Walmart Paint: apple barrel 8 oz $2.50 at Walmart Heat transfer vinyl: about $13 on Amazon. Paint brushes: about $5 Sealing spray: $3 at Walmart. Vinyl you can get for cheap on Amazon to start. 🤷🏻♀️ hope that helps!!! 😁 I have links to all the products I use in the description. *sorry my response took so long, I missed a lot of comments for some reason.
I sale them for $50 & $80. Everyone has their own prices. I find a lot of people do them for super cheap, but when I consider time and process, I think the amount is fair. 😊
8-16$ depending on where they ship to. It cost me 8 to ship in other cities in Tx &the most expensive is $16 to New York and around the east coast. Shipping prices suck. 😫
Hi, how do you ship a 18x30 rug? I cannot find a poly mailer anywhere do be able to fit it & id rather not ship it in a box, as it is more expensive. Do you have any tips on how I can ship it without a box? Thank you!
Between 8-16$ for the smaller ones and up to 18$ on the larger ones, but if you work the shipping cost into your prices, you should be good. Thank you so much for watching!
@@Digital010 I’ve only ever used usps directly or through Etsy so I’m not familiar with them. But for USPS I use priority mail and the size comes out to 16 in length and 6 inches in width & right under 4 lbs.
Good evening! I have them linked in the description under polymailers. They have different colors in stock right now, I think black is out of stock. But they also have white.
$30 for the small & $50 for the large. I only sale locally now though. When I was selling online I charged $45 and $60 for the large. $80 for more challenging designs on the larger mats.
I use the brand apple barrel. It’s linked in the description. And I seal it with a clear rustoleum spray. I believe it is also linked. :) thanks for watching!
Hello. I use the permanent vinyl for the stencil, than transfer it on to the doormat with the heat resistant transfer material that is linked in the description box. Hope that helps!
People also use freezer paper. I use oracle stencil vinyl and then cover it with parchment paper then iron it on really good and it sticks nicely and paint doesn’t bleed through!

Thank you so much for this comment! It means a lot to me. I try and help as much as possible. 💕 Have a good evening!
Thank you!! Just what I was looking for 😊
I actually need a tutorial on how to make a stencil and what’s needed 😅 any video link is greatly appreciated
I think zip ties would be a better option to keep the mat together, likely cheaper too. but thanks for the tutorial
Hi Mary, thanks for this super helpful video! What type of paint is best used on coir doormats? I'm seeing a mix of people use acrylic while others use enamel. What do you think will last the longest? Tips would be appreciated! :)
Flex seal is great and very durable. You can also use exterior latex paint.
thank you for this video, it's informative, short and straight to the point.
Thank you!
Hi Mary! This tutorial was extremely helpful. Thank you for doing this. Have you found anywhere to buy your doormats in bulk?
Thank you, glad it was helpful. No I have not found any, but I also am not looking to buy in bulk, so I have never searched. I sell about 10-30 a month, so I just go and stock up at ikea. 😊
You do very good work with your craft
Thank you!
Question, if my mat cracks after rolling, what am i doing wrong? Too much paint?
Have you ever used htv and a heat gun, that’s what I use and it’s great
I have not, but I shall try soon. Thank you!

Is it hard to paint on stencil? I was thinking of doing a custom artwork piece like a cat with details
No, not it all. It’s easy.
what are your shipping dimensions and how much does it cost to ship them? I don't think I have my listing priced correctly.

Use 2 poly mailers together.
Like tape them together, but from opposite ends & meet in the middle with both?
Yes, so it’s like one big polymailer.
Okay, thank you! What size poly mailers should I get to double? I don’t want to over do it lol
The polymailers I use should be linked in the description. If you need to ship ASAP, you can use 2 from Walmart or dollar tree.

Once they receive it will the doormat be flat once they unroll it?
Yes. And if for some reason it’s not, these mats settle quick. Never had any problems with it not being flat though.

How do you know what size stencil you want on you may before cutting on HTV???
I measure the mat and figure out what size will look best by making little samples on Cricut design space.
