Nothing like standing a few feet from a rotary powered racecar on launch control with its flame thrower activated. lol More from Import Face Off Atco, Nj coming soon.
Out here in Puerto Rico are a bunch off Rotary Nitrous builds, there’s even an event held every year just to that specific type off build, just for nitrous and all motor rotary cars.
I'm Oldscool American iron all the way but that car is music to a man's ears nothing like revving the daylights out of something that can actually take it I'd drive it and wouldn't surprise me if it was daily lol
Having a 76 121 coupe (infamously known as the RX-5, look it up its a g) rebuilt from the ground up for a half bridge street build. Won't be near as powerful as this but holy moly I can't wait til I'm going broke paying for fuel shooting flames all day
I had a 73 RX2. if you tuned it right, it would rip up the street. I would go so fast the top of the doors would pull away from the body. It was insane.
Hi! Thanks for taking me "way back" to my stock Mazda RX3SP Beauty! - www.dropbox.com/s/6vwnvjhvc17izlx/TJP%26RX3SP_sml_01b.jpg?dl=0 - I could dust any Datsun 210/510/whatever, all Toyota Corollas, and could "stick" a Boss 302 Mustang out to 5th gear. Just doin' some business out in the San Fernando Valley back in the late 70's my friend!
@@johnny_6T8 Hi! Not sure. His name escapes me now, but you're making me wanna look (for him) fo' sho'. I actually believe that *Rotary* *Tech* *Kid* was Sportin' Long Hair (circa 1980). I'm sure he wasn't any of the Mazda workers over at that now closed down Mazda joint on *Lankershim* nearby one of our Metro Stations. But it was at that Mazda Car Sale Joint where I realized just how fast & powerful my *RX3-SP* ride was! A lot of us got to return our Mazdas over to that Lankershim Joint and get *re-called* *damaged* *seals* (or something) repaired for free. I beleive that, just like on *Motocross* Race Bikes back then, that once you've worked on an internal cylinder you get to utilize a bigger bore piston. I truly felt more torque and increased low end low rpm powerband action while racing stoplight to stoplight against enemy slow piston Datsuns. I do know our Mystery Mazda Boy *was* *racing* his souped up modified Mazdas on the weekends, and he was slowing hotrodding my Mazda to finally come out and join him (according to the limits of my Reuben's Plankhouse Bartender Paycheck (out there near Devonshire & Reseda). He'd just dropped my Rotary ride approx 2inches or so lower and put on some stiff *Koni* *Shocks* all the way around, just before my RX3-SP got totaled in a car wreck on Sherman Way and Laurel Canyon by a crazed woman driver from *Texas* (Thank God I'm still here to talk about it). If I get more time, let's scour Google for Fast & Furious Rotary Mazda Racers from the late '70's to early '80's in The San Fernando Valley and see if we can recognize Our Guy! What Kind of Ride did you have? And do you still got it? It was amazing to see, in this video that RX3 Mazda go up against that RX-7 because we all knew the RX3-SP engine was basically the *prototype* Rotary Engine of the eventual production line of RX 7's.
@@designertjp-utube Very interesting read there sir! I was bussed(pwt) from L.A. to both Frost Jr and Kennedy hi starting in '81. Wasn't till 84 when i started high school did i notice the red Rx-3 station wagon always parked on the street. Only reason it caught my eye at that age was because my neighbor had a light blue one. A few years later(86/87) i got bit by the rotary bug after swapping out a 4 speed for a 5 for a buddy of mine. When i test drove it, i couldn't believe that lil 12A. His '72 Rx-2 had a '85 13B. Not long after that i drove to school in my '74 Mustang ll and saw that man on SF Mission. Stopped and opened a conversation with him. His Rx-3 wagon actually belonged to his wife. He had some goods out in the backyard and garage. A handful of both 12A & 13Bs plus his Rx-4. Very nicely kept. Considering it was only about 12/13 years old at the time. If i remember correctly, we worked at Westlake Mazda. When i met him, he was already retired. If i had to guess, he was probably pushing 63-67 ish at that time. I myself still have an Rx-2. Bought my 1st Rx-2 from an older lady out in Lakeview Terrace for $75. Sold it some years later, but bought another in 2001 which I still have.
@@johnny_6T8 Cool! Then that neighbor guy was not our Rotary Speed Racer, but a great mechanic still. These days I'm the one who's 66 and simply try to keep my 2004 Dodge Dakota Truck alive until Gov Newsom finally calls it quits on all gas powered stuff in California. But I sho' do Luv *"Sleeper* *Cars* (and trucks)". I like how they can tear out a new embarassing anus on an unsuspecting millennial trying to show off to his GF how fast he is from Stop Light 2 Stoplight, only to get caught with his pants down after tryin' to vape some crap just before the light turns green. With a Sleeper Car, all nicely tuned up (even with them new fangled double prong tipped spark plugs and a clean *K&N* *Air* *Filter* installed, such a Dude can cause severe mental brain damage on the kid's psyche in his new version muscle car of what we actually had in the late '60's early '70's. My Truck literally lurch/blasts off for 1.5 seconds, and then I shut it down acting like I'm fumbling for *another* *DVD* in the cab as the Kid and his pink cheeked GF speed right by me. I don't care. Already made my mark on him.
Dang. _What did you just say?_ I was too busy jammin' & blasting my *Saturday* *Night* *Fever* Soundtrack Cassette inside my Rotary Mazda. Just took my Lovely Engine for granted.
I went to the PAN AM event at ATCO this year and these jackasses were blasting this shit music on both sides of the track. It was drowning out rotary race cars if that tell you anything.
Hey buddy let me tell u something it wasn't our car the made the noise and we took it to the person attention to lower the music we go there to race not to listen to music but if u have any other questions come see me in person at the track that's all......
Hi! You're supposed to "smell & hear" that Rare Legendary Rotary Engine Sound with your eyes (and Dolby capable speakers). Please leave your Datsun 510 (if you got one) parked in the garage unless you wanna see "daylight" and some Mazda Red Tail Lights way out front when you attempt to shift from 1st to 2nd.
Is there any real reason this dude has to rev the fck out of the car , I know those motor rev hard but to just to continue to rev the fck out of it , I don't know
Imagine cold starting this thing 4am on a Sunday morning. Neighbours would luv ya wouldn't they 😂

You wouldn't happen to have known a Mazda rotary tech that lived on SF Mission and Haskell(granada hills) back in those days? His name escapes me.
