  • Who doesn't love the sound of a rotary on two step?! This compilation contains clips I've filmed over the years but mainly at Hal Far Raceway as the rotary drag scene isn't as big over here in the UK.
    Enjoy, more compilations coming soon!

    Every drag strip should have this feature lol. Shows the eighth mile time then the quarter mile. Simple but Brilliant. I guess it may be cuz it distracts the driver or sum but idk that the only downside I could think of.

      @@majorva2653 the best compromise of rotary level power (relative to displacement) and durability is a crankcase aspirated 2stroke. Despite what many will tell you, a 2stroke can be force aspirated, through a turbo or supercharger. The key is in the gas reflection wave of the exhaust chamber. Not much experimentation has been done with force aspirated 2 strokes, and there might be a limit to how much pressure they can take, but the reflection wave is quite strong. For instance, the Honda NSR500 produced 180hp reliably with half a liter, for an entire Moto gp race. With a properly shaped exhaust port (with bridges and rounded edges) the piston rings have great longevity. Retained piston rings are being experimented with by several 2stoke builders (Mark Atkinson) this retained piston rings would further increase longevity. 2stokes may be impractical for most applications, but they excell in racing. The best part is that the cylinders gain volumetric efficiency with volume, so a 2 liter 4 cylinder engine would be more efficient than the average 250cc. There is a scene for 2stroke drag racing, but it's usually done in dirt, or snow.

    An honest question- do ppl NOT know how to do burnouts & stage their cars? Back in the day nobody was allowed on the track for safety reasons, & drivers did everything themselves. Now we have to have a group of ppl nosing around & telling them how to burnout & stage. Do ppl just want to be on the track looking important, or is it really needed?
    I always knew how to stage at the tree without help

      Yes it’s necessary, you need somebody to guide you back after you do your burnout etc..aswell as over here in australia you can go to a workshop and get a 7,8,9 sec package and that also comes with them coming to the track with you to teach you everything you need to know about drag racing your car

    • @CorruptInfinityOfficial
      @CorruptInfinityOfficial 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Alex Chulzhanov too many people didn’t pay attention in science class, they don’t understand these slicks are only filled to 6-9psi cold usually and heat up to 14-15psi easily after the burnout. Everyone wants to act like a internet scientist but they don’t even say anything to back up their comment it’s like they want to talk shit like it’s a game.

      @MrJdsenior 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the ones I saw that were running the faster cars were doing burnouts pretty much like I remember funny and rail classes doing them back in the day...so ...? I suspect on cars running 11s and 12s it is not as critical, maybe.

    Just came from a vid where KARTS were running engines about the same size as these and running 9's to 12's. THIS is more like it! It amazed me that many of the karts had nitrous and were running slower or about the same as the bikes they came off of, STOCK! WTH? Incredible that these cars run faster than funny cars from my early days, monster blown, fueled, hemi driven stuff. Some of them half way to the RAIL runs of that time. Incredible.
