Very nice restoration, I notice when restorers add silver touches to grilles and bumpers they over do it, I prefer it under done. I think you got it right here. You can have nice finish only to be spoilt with too much silver spreading onto paintwork. Love the finish on this beautiful car.
I'd love to see you customise one of these old Dinky models - either to showroom spec., or to barn find rustbucket, and maybe create a 3D printed interior for it, and give it some cool wheels. I had this model as a kid, and it was a favourite, as we rarely saw American cars in England in the mid 1960's. Perfect restoration as always. Thank you.
Better than new! Sadly, the 1959 Hornet was the last of the Hudson Hornets. You did an absolutely bee-yoo-tif-full resto. 10/10. Demand 60 Quid ! No less. Surely in the U.S. there is a bloke's Dad who commuted on the turnpike every work day in his 1959 Hudson Hornet.. 65 Quid..no less.. Two (2) thumbs up.
If the glass has a crack in it but it’s by the rivet, before you drill the rivet, put a bit of liquid poly on the glass and let it dry, that will stop the crack spreading
Not a fan of the color red on cars. Certainly better than the yellow though. In any event, once you got the cream roof on there and all the details. It did start looking appealing😁
AMC made them for three model years ,1955--57 . The year 1955 was most desirable 1957 was a ugly dog . Your dinky is I beleave a 1956 .You did a excellent job on the two toning .
Nice colour scheme for the hudson Danny. Im extending an invite to you and Rob (matchbox garage) to join the Diecast and Modellers Community (DMC) for our December Ashes event. England v Australia (New Zealand ) I'll class as Australia. Cheers Michael
Wow!!! Looks even better than the original. The red colour looks so much better than the yellow colour

Didn’t they stop at the hornet 57 and they made 58 concept but didn’t because of the merger with Nash to make AMC?
@@nosea5716You are probably correct.

I drill and tap my models to, I think it’s better than super glue and rivets, plus if you ever have to take them apart again, it’s easy
Beautiful Danny, simply beautiful!
Greetings buddy! Great job, beautiful toy 👍
If your going to use the Super Blue gun bluing.. Try baking it at 200 degrees f for 5 minutes.

Nicely done Danny, those type of riveted window units can be a pain to get out.

Hello super restoration 🖒🖒🖒
Great vid, thanks. Looks like that super blue might be a simple way to give a stripped car body a rat rusted look?
Great job 👍
