  • Trusty continues his Huckster Road Trip through Ohio with a stop at the Cambridge Glass Museum. Run by members of the Cambridge Glass Collectors Club, the museum holds an unbelievable range of displays from its founding in pharmacy glass to its closing in 1954 and then reopening in 1955 with its ultimate demise in 1958. Tours are given by club members, and Anna was an absolute treasure with so many stories about the company and the people who worked there, this video can't possibly do it justice.
During this video, we reference another video which describes the history of the company. I could not film the actual video during my visit, but they gave me the URL to share here so you can enjoy the tour and interviews from the early 50s

This is a dream vacation for me to visit glass museums! Since childhood watching my dad and grandfather stretch lead channels to repair stain glass church windows I’ve been fascinated with glass. Amazing what they made from it, the details, etchings, etc. Fascinating!

What a treat. I must see for myself one day. The displays were so nicely executed and well lit. Thanks for the tour on a rainy cold Sunday night. I never left the comfort of my overstuffed club chair and smoking jacket.
