hello i am back!!! after months of basically living in my bed and not doing anything other than sleep, cry and play games, i have returned. changed up the styles of my videos a little bit but i hope that doesn't bother anyone!! let me know if it does

Feels like sunlight on leaves
I have had sleeping problems for years now. I always stay up past midnight reading or on my laptop because if i dont distract my mind i will go insane with the torment of loneliness. When i found this band two years ago it made me cry because I found so much beauty and safety in it. No matter how badly my families issues are, this band is always there to calm me down. I wish i had someone to talk to. I hold everything in and hide all the pain. I try to always where a smile, because if i even let a little bit out i might just fall apart. I think i need help, but i dont have anyone to talk to. I dont have any real friends, and my family life is just chaos. I just sit in my room and scream into my pillow sometimes. But this music helps. It reminds me of better times. And gives me hope that times will get better again. Sorry for the long dramatic post. I dont normally put myself out there like this. I'm just so lost and confused and lonely.
-Edit: I've grown and changed a lot since I wrote this. I was falling in a hole, and for a while, I hit my rock bottom. and I found who my true friends are, and stopped listening to the ones who pushed me. I'm crawling out of the pit, and everyday i'm stronger. Thank you all for the support. It helps. And I encourage others to keep fighting, especially when it feels impossible. gripping hold on that rime and seeing the day again is worth it.

Sometimes I could keep the beast at bay with sheer busy-ness, but sometimes the night would claw at me and leave me ragged, too. Books were my escape, too. But then I would wake up as the beast-there wasn't a happy-ever-after in my story. I used to have such blackness in my soul. I am so very sorry to hear about your family-my season of abject sorrow came after my very best friend took her own life as a very young, beautiful lady of 17. She will never realize her full story and whether or not our chapters would have remained intertwined; that still haunts me sometimes. Please reach out to me or someone next time the beast stalks. You are SEEN. You are HEARD. And you are LOVED. It may not feel like it at this moment, but you are CREATED with a good plan and have good things to do here that nobody else can. I 100% know that and pray you will come to know it, too. Then, your dark season will blossom and bloom into this beautiful, wild garden that can bring solace to others and you help them walk through their seasons. Shalom dear one.

One day the people on earth woke up at dawn on a heavenly bright light coming out of the sun.
They freaked out and had nothing else to do but watch and wait,
all of sudden the sun split off into two pieces and the light went madly bright.
That's when they saw a breathtaking scene; there was a girl coming out of the core of the sun.
She had the skin color of pale gold, perfect lips made with the texture of marble, deep eyes that had the sparking of everyone's favorite sunshine, a body that presented the greatest dawns, and two hands that held the warmth of the whole sun. They were all amazed by her personality that was as strong as the sun of July.
They called her 'the girl of the sun'.
The days passed by and the birth of this girl started to become a legend.. And I didn't believe those legends until I myself, met the girl of the sun.
Until I drowned in her sunshiny eyes, until I melt in her lovely arms and touched her perfect hair, I didn't believe it until I realized how perfect she was for just a normal girl.
But of course she wasn't a normal girl, she was "The Girl Of The Sun".
The girl of the sun wore a reflection of my broken heart as necklace because her heart was full. The girl of the sun wore sadness in her eyes just to remind us of how sad beauty it. The girl of the sun doesn't need maps because she'll always find her way to my heart.
My heart was so precious and no ordinary girl deserved it, so I gave it to the girl of the sun.

Gosh... I love this song. I can’t express how many times Sleeping At Last songs have most likely saved my life.
This song evokes a certain warmth to me. It makes me feel almost as if I am being enclosed by a loving pink light, which is why I find the background to this video so fitting. Whenever I hear the melody to Sun, I just envision myself being enwrapped in the arms of the kindest, most beautiful soul. If Mother Nature could speak, her voice would be reflected through these lyrics.
The second sentence of your comment - I've experienced that. Really. I don't know if you're religious and this isn't my attempt to convert you, but your comment perfectly describes what I've felt before so I felt the need to say this.
When I was 8-11 years old I used to suffer from terrible intrusive thoughts. (Still do, but they're different now and don't make me cry myself to sleep.) Every night, unless I was excited enough about something to be distracted, I'd think about every horrible thing that could happen while I was asleep or during the following day. The house couId burn down, some one I cared about could die in a car accident, etc... I felt as if by thinking about them they'd be less likely to happen. I eventually realised this wasn't true and had these thoughts less often, but then I learned about nuclear bombs (through a very scary animated video that showed people melting alive, which didn't help) and boom - new fear unlocked!
One night my thoughts got so bad even before bed that I went into a room alone and cried. There I prayed for the fear to go away and suddenly I felt as if I was surrounded by pink clouds and nothing in the world could hurt me. It was a feeling of safety I'd never felt before or since.
Again, interpret this however you want, as a dream or whatever, but for me it was real and my life changed that night. As I said before, I still have intrusive thoughts, but they're about a completely different theme (a religious one, ironically, but it's something I can deal with) and don't make me fear for my life every night.

I too struggle with anxiety and depression and have had issues with intrusive thoughts for most of my life, which has affected me rather negatively through the years. I can empathize with your pain, as it makes it very difficult for me to focus on much else, and I always live in constant fear over what these thoughts mean. What you just shared with me gives me hope though that God exists and can do good things for people, so thank you for that. I really needed to hear this and appreciate your story. I’m glad you’ve healed through the power of prayer and hope all is well with you now. Take care.

Sleeping At Last is underated, even though they shouldn't be. They actually create meaningful music, while there's Country Music that people are addicted to, but if you look up a lyric video of a Country Song, or listen to the lyrics carefully on the radio, half the songs are about drugs, while rappers talk about "sexy girls" or also drugs. Sleeping At Last, Imagine Dragons and many more people write meaningful songs. People need to listen to this kind of music rather than music about drugs or other disgusting topics.
