“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” This has to be one of my favorite quotes from Audrey Hepburn. It says so much about the joy of life (and sewing, haha). I hope you guys enjoy! And if you haven’t yet be sure to like, comment & subscribe for more videos coming soon. 🎃🍁 Xoxo, Cindy Leaux
Your videos are so good to watch. No annoying music, just the sound of your work! I absolutely love it!!! And good quality sewing tutorial too!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
same! 🤣 was avoiding them like the plague and now the first time i have to do them the instructions are for *bound* buttonholes. so many kind sewists left great advice on my community post about making practice buttonholes, pressing a lot and taking your time. 100% agree with all of that lol
aw thank you so much!! 🥹🩵 i need to go catch up on your lovely sewing channel! are you doing anything for halloween? so excited to see what the sewing community comes up with 🥳🎉
Ok, been watching your channel about a week now! Your amazing so talented inspiring creative you have such impeccable taste and I LOVE the things you make! A woman after my own heart! You WOW me with every dress! Seriously I would wear them all and may try to make some of my own instead of just costumes all the time. Thank you... ❤❤❤❤
As expect another beautifully sewn garment and relaxing video! I am always learning something new whenever I watch you... I never thought to baste my markings that make everything clear and super easy to follow. Nice Job once again Cindy 🥰
thank you so much!! you know what? i really love watching those korean tailoring asmr videos and they baste absolutely everything haha. it’s so helpful! how’s your sewing coming along? are you thinking of doing anything for halloween? 🎃 💕
@@CindyLeaux I think I have seen one on menswear, but I have to rewatch it to catch that ! Alas since I started Uni again and with work, it has defiantly slowed down, I finished a couple of trousers and currently a pair of P.J.s are on my table! Nothing for Halloween, but many other projects on back order lol. Thanks for checking in💖
You did a fantastic job on the dress and I love the accessories you chose. I admire you in that you’re not afraid to take on a difficult project if it’s the look and style you want. Stay true to yourself. Bravo!
This is the first time that I think I can actually make the dress (if I get my hands on the pattern) just from watching a video. Loved your cannel, I am subscribed now.
As a duckling about to venture into corset making, you have inspired me into taking a little interlude into making this dress as a treat to myself. You did a beautiful job while looking fabulous in your pink feather dressing gown and I love the buttons you used, it definitely makes the overall dress look and feel special ❤
Can you do a video on how to read patterns? Or maybe a step by step instruction video for beginners going over different terminology and stuff like that
It was soothing watching you create something beautiful with just the sound of the bird chirping🥰 And I must add that your hands are so beautiful. I had no idea that people powdered them! 😮😍
wow!! 🥹❤️🙏 that’s so awesome to hear. i hope you have so much fun prancing around in your beautiful new dress. polkadots are such a classic in any wardrobe (and def on my wish list to use someday haha) 🌸❤️ enjoy! ❤️🌸
@@CindyLeaux You did model it! I like the purse you picked to go with it. Your buttons give the dress an air of formality. Can't wait to see what you do for Halloween!!!🕸🎃
That is an absolutely beautiful dress. Well done. Sewing a Givenchy... hat and gloves off to you Ms. Cindy. As for spooky season suggestion, have you ever seen the 1962 Carnaval of Souls?... The wardrobe was stunning. There used to be versions of it up on the YT. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
thank you so much! 🥰❤️ i will check that movie out for spooky ideas. how was your kimono project? i’m also thinking of making something in that family (robe).
@@CindyLeaux Hey Ms. Cindy. The movie is fun (lead actress was an early adaptor of method acting). Hope you enjoy it. I'm progressing with the kimono blouse project (thank you so much for asking after it) - I set a rule where I'm only doing handwork on this one so it's taking a while. But progress is happening. I got the thread marking finished at a workshop night at our local sewing shop. A kimono robe would be perfect for this time of year. Very elegant.
I like your flat felled seams and I love those button holes! How do you work with those big fluffy sleeves?! As always, beautiful work. Thank you for sharing this with us
How many years did it take you to become proficient enough to make dresses like this? I collect vintage dresses between 40s & 50s, but am considering taking up sewing classes to make my own from vintage patterns. But my husband, who has basic sewing machine skills tells me it will take at least 3 years to master such a thing. Am I being too optimistic to think I can pull it off within a year?
I think your optimism is great and you can totally make a dress whenever you believe you can. I personally haven’t been sewing a full year yet. I still have a lot to learn ofc, but I’m making dresses that I can actually wear. So, I believe you can totally do it too!

the way my jaw dropped at that button hole (i'm a beginner). I've been avoiding making garments with button holes before but this changes everything

ty for joining me 🥰
This may not be a tutorial but those buttonholes send this video straight into my Sewing Tips folder!
hahah love that! 🥰🙏
A recommendation is to put a magnet on your machine where you put your pins to keep them away from the feed dogs and needle.
oooh thank you! i will into that 🥰
