Great video as always Kieran. Looked a bit tough on the eld calf muscles that first path 😅. Some spectacular views from the summit - exhilarating. Winter skies are the best. Shame about the late night decent. Sometimes, better to have no signal. All the best 😊👍🏼
Fantastic site for a camp! Drone shots are definitely a great addition to the channel, especially with those views! Definitely best to follow your gut instinct and leave the mountain safely 👍
Mate sorry it had to end like that but you probably did the right thing by coming down when you did. I suspect that the camp site doesn’t want to be a magnet for party campers parking cars and clearing off to cause havoc in the hills. But you live and learn - your drone footage adds a great dimension and your enthusiasm for the hills always shines through - ATB Jason
@@cragratoutdoors Yeah that’s a fair comment just wish it was stated on the website which I later checked and nothing 👎🏻 but yes, live and you learn 📖 Cheers mate
I won’t say the name but I know exactly the site you are referring to tried parking my car there one time and offered to pay for a camp pitch and was refused on the grounds that I was wild camping over night, your camp was going so well to awesome views very atmospheric with the rolling cloud, best keep to the free parking on roadside in future but then you worry if you’re car will still be there when you return, stay safe Buddy, ATB,Les.
@@wildcamping1502 Such a shame isn’t it but yes I will be relying on the road parking from here on in 👍🏻 it was a great build up wasn’t it to a spot on camp! I will be returning though! Stay tuned! Thanks for watching Les
@@Deadushka99 Neither did i. That was heading to be my most favourite camp that i have ever done until I received that email 🤣 but thankyou for watching!
Several wild campers have encountered trouble wild camping there , locals not happy with it and have to think of the wishes of the community they have to live in.its catch 22
@@glyn_mtn It sounds that way doesn’t it! I paid for a full 1 night stay as well but apparently it’s in their rules (which I missed) because I’ve used that method so many other times with campsites and it’s usually absolutely fine 🤷🏼♂️
I think you should name and shame the campsite! They're depriving you of nature and they have already received your payment for 'partial' wear and tear on their property.
@@OuterSpacesWales At the time I would’ve because I was angry they were happy for me to descend 833m in the dark to remove my vehicle. But, now I am calm I don’t want to give them any advertisement whether it be good or bad 🤣

Yes, I agree!
Great video, best park along the A5 or up by Llyn Ogwen, your car will be safe enough there

What a bitter sweet adventure. Amazing evening views so you got that from it. Unsure what I would have done at the end.

The cross pole on the vern goes under the two long poles mate
@@zedex.4987 I’ve trialled both methods mate, and I find this way is the most effective 👍🏻
@ the cross pole supports the other two against wind so that is the most effective method

So basically, the campsite owners got the hump with you using their parking facilities but camping ‘wild’ instead of using their site?
