This song is so good. I love everything about it and can't get it out of my head. Love the powerful message too, this one resonates with a lot of people
Honestly, never thought about that lyrics could hit me so hard. I was always scared and felt so sorry for people with mental illnesses and now I’m one of those people.. I think bands like CTE or Linkin Park and many other Bands are trying to help and show us, people with mental illnesses, that we’re not alone. They’re reaching out to us... so much respect for that, it’s not easy
Don't be mad when a band changes. It's growth. It's experimentation. This is their art. You either appreciate it or you don't. Doesn't mean their stuff isn't good. It just means it isn't for you.
If a band doesn’t change, people complain about how they died out. If they change, people complain that they conformed and went mainstream. We are so selfish to think that a band wouldn’t also make a sound business decision to gain new listeners.

Unpopular opinion but I feel like a lot of hate going on to these guys is mostly unjustified. Don't get me wrong, I miss the old sound as well, but this is still really good. There were some iffy songs on the album but for the most part I enjoyed it.
It's not hate. It's disappointment. Just like the "growing" Asking Alexandria went through, they have completely changed their style. Their fans were fans for their music, if their music changes completely, what is the point. This sounds like every other song on the radio. I simply don't like it. Fking autotune... really....
@@Shawncsc Yea fair enough. I won't pretend like I wasn't also disappointed with their change of sounds in the past years, but I don't dislike it. But I see your point
@@ValkyrieLightwing that's sensible. Another that came to mind after I posted was being me the horizon. I love metal and all the sub genres that encompass it. At least this is still listenable lol.
@@Shawncsc completely don't agree with you. BMTH and AA absolutely gone soft. CTE still has heavy songs like 20/20, Red Pills, MZRY and Sequence. They even still use screaming vocals, though Dave left and they had a chance to not use it. Also, I think Sudden Sky is heavier than Retrograde, unlike BMTH's and AA's last albums compared to previous releases
I am not quite sure if you are referring to "inside" as the introspection of who you are, but if you are, good for you :) Most of the things we believe are true about this world become quite blurry indeed once we start questioning them.
This song has such a deep meaning and I feel it whenever I’m home from a deployment or just visiting on a holiday. This song speaks to me on a different level from others.
I feel like the less heavy they get, the more modern their artistic style does get. Retrograde had this kind of a space rock vibe to it and Sudden Sky is taking sort of a futuristic approach to society's problems of today. I have always respected this band madly for their highly artistic talents. Screams or not, heavy or soft, not many metalcore originated bands can write music that is so deep, mysterious and modern as they do. The Fallout Deluxe is one of the best albums I've ever had the chance to experiment during the new era of music and they might never be able to top that album but at least they still make some pretty damn good music and on top of that provide one of the best, most emotionally invested music videos out there. CTE forever!
Every band goes through an Evolution. BMTH, Like Moths To Flames, Bless the Fall, TWA, erra, BOO, ect. It's inevitable but i love where these guys went with their music. It's still CTE and heavy in its own element. Hell of a job on the album guys!
Why is every band's evolution into the same distilled sound? It's because they get worn out going through the cycle and arent able to organically write music
@@zodi9783 Tbh, you can’t say much of the original era: the post hardcore sound was becoming everyone’s sound and generic , tho some just had better takes and innovations to make theirs original. A thought: after viewing the video it seems the message is about how we as individuals are having a battle within ourselves. With the lonely person, priest, and lovers suffering from conflicting inner feelings. The individual looking in the mirror than physically fighting with himself shows how the people feel being torn between what choices to make. As for the silver mass, that would be the normalizing of life. To be as the worldview and directed by that through your choices.
Sometimes the reality of my life, my mental state, all of it, hits me at once and I always come back to this. It’s just how I feel. I feel unloved, all the love I’ve ever received from women has been a trap of some sort or it was completely unauthentic, I waste my time on social media because I don’t have anything better to do for the rest of my days, I work a manual labor job and my friend group is small now, I struggle with severe dissociation and it’s mind numbing, I’ve never given my heart away to a woman either and I’m pretty unemotional with tonight being the exception to either my delusion or my lack of acceptance. Sure I’m not in the worst position in life, but it’s not the best. Maybe my brain plays little tricks on me to make it all feel worse. Or unchangeable. It feels like these problems are a part of me as a whole. This is my rare moment of clarity so it took me here.
Honestly, these lyrics are hitting me so hard right now... I just finished therapy, I got a lot of closure that I wanted from my family, and I'm doing "better," but why don't I feel anything? I know that so many different emotions are flowing through me, and yet I feel nothing...
