    Really appreciate the person under the legal limit saying that people shouldn’t drive after any amount of alcohol. Even if your reaction speed is half a second slow that might be the difference between someone living and dying.

      @@1234Dee this is true! 5 hours of sleep one night is the equivalent of being over/at the limit. 2weeks of 6 hours of sleep is equivalent to being drunk. This does vary between age but is pretty consistent as the average

    Hi, “mint green” here lol. I’d like to attempt clarifying my reasons for sharing something upsetting. I find stories very powerful. A lot of important lessons I’ve learned have either been through lived experience or a compelling story. My hope is maybe someone will hear my journey and know that they are not alone in their struggles. It’s often a messy treacherous path, but the other side is achievable. I hope they don’t go through some of what I did to make the changes they want to. I also would like for people to know that predators prey on vulnerable people, please find it in your heart to approach vulnerable individuals with compassion and patience. They may be hurting more than they let on.

    One of the greatest dangers of alcohol is that people doesn't really see it as a drug, just because it's legal. Alcoholics usually need to completely lose their social functionality before being considered someone with an addiction problem, while the warning signs would come much earlier for users of any other drug.

      People have really really twisted ideas about alcohol overall, including consumption of it and what classifies as a "lot" unfortunately, mostly we compare to others habits, not BAC. Some countries have alcoholism as a past time or a stereotype joke. Others are a lot more strict about it. So in those places, the "just socially" means something totally different.
      Alcoholism also is there much sooner than people think. When it becomes a problem, you were already an alcoholic. It's why people talk about "functional" alcoholic.

    • @aceofaces0007
      @aceofaces0007 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      As much as I would like to see this, part of the problem is that the MBTI test is predicated on self-reporting in the moment, which isn't reliable, especially if people don't truly have self-awareness on a deep level. Plus, results that are under 60% are basically no different than a coin flip between one personality trait over another. This is because a 60/40 ratio is 1.5 to 1, and 1.5 would typically be rounded up so that a result of > 60% indicates that you more likely than not have one trait over another. Anything less than a 1.5 to 1 ratio would be rounded down, making it largely inconclusive. The margin of error in self-reporting tests is considerable as a result, so unless you score above 60% across the board on all personality trait spectrums that make up MBTI, the results you get are not going to be anywhere close to accurate. A score of 60%+ may sound easy to achieve, but it's harder than you think unless you're absolutely certain about yourself.

      if it was with a breathalyzer, those things have a margin of error of up to 50%. They aren't reliable at all and can't account for other factors like hormones, emotional state etc. It is far more likely that you were way over BAC with that much alcohol in you.
      Good for you on your journey to sobriety! Hang in there and don't be afraid to use any tools you have, support systems, therapy or good vices as a temp replacement when you feel the addiction popping up.

    I would make a terrible bartender I can't tell if a person is drunk unless they are falling down drunk. I was never around drinkers and don't drink myself. My grandfather was hurt badly and as a result, had crippling arthritis. Back in the day, they didn't have anything to offer him for pain relief so he drank. He had such a high tolerance for alcohol that he didn't get drunk. I never drank because I thought drinking would be a problem for me.
