Just a quick video for the impala and monte carlo people looking to get 22s to fit.
Normally all you need is a bottle jack to lift the strut plates and the right size tires and offset.
These rims are 22x9 on 245/30/22 tires.

If you ever need to replace your struts, go with KYB Strut Plus struts. They are made to clear the stock Impala 18's and the springs are equivalent to the LTZ/SS FE3 springs. Just my $.02

@@89imp03 I installed KYB's in my Imp about 3 months ago - not long enough to comment on their longevity, but I can say for certain they ride smooth!

I have a 2008 impala & every place I've been told me I cant put anything higher then 18s on my car 🙄 all these videos I've been seeing prove different
Yeah I know people that ride 20s and 22s daily. Its a rougher ride due to the small tires but it can be done
Hey man, I'm doing work on mine tomorrow but don't know where to safely jack the rear of the car from. The pinch welds are crumbling from rust, any ideas?
If you can reach far enough under maybe you can lift at the suspension spot in the middle between the back wheels
What’s a good brand of struts to use I forgot what brand I had got a few years ago but I didn’t have to use spacers now I do
Monroe is like a good standard brand

My 22’s fit without anything done to it if you have 17’s or 18’s the car has different struts if you have the 16’s on it then either you get the spring plate moved up or bent up like you showed
I didn't even know they had different struts on these outside of the police heavy duty ones

Can i fit a 22x9.5 on a 2004 Impala?
depending on the offset and tire size the fitment may be a little different
On my 08 I have the 16” wheels and I want to get a set of the 18” wheels from the LTZ impala’s. Do you think I would have to mess with the strut like you had to or do you think I would be able to do it without having to sweat?
Should be able to put factory 18s on without doing anything

These are 22x9, I think the offset is like 38mm

The tire size is a little thicker than what I had but it should fit with the same work as long as the offset is in the right range. Just jack up the plate an inch or 2 and it should be fine

So imma jack the plate up some tomorrow but I got 22’s for my 08 impala I have 265/35r/22 but last time I put them on the back ones hit that metal plate and like the little mud flap fender thing inside got any tips on that ?
Pretty thick tire, you can try to add a small wheel spacer to push the rim out away from everything. That might help a little
@@89imp03 so if you had to guess after I jack the metal plate up would they work at all with those size tires they all 4 are brand new tires 😬
@@DBKILLA1 maybe but it depends on the rim offset too. That's close to the size of my tires when I had 24s on my old Impala so it might fit but you run the risk of scrubbing on the fenders when you hit bumps
@@89imp03 update just got the 22’s put on the 08 impala with tire size 265/35/22 had to bend all 4 plates up tires fit well look clean started the car turned the wheels and they rub pretty bad on the front wheels while Turning also my drivers side wheel sticks out further than the others. Looks like my only hope is to buy 265/30/22 even tho all 4 tires are new 😔💀
@@DBKILLA1 dang, well hopefully new tires get it. I would go 245/30 if the rim isn't too wide for them. That'll free up a little space for turning
What was the offset bro..i got 22x9 with a 15mm offset with a 245 30 22 tire?
I'm not sure on the offset but my guess is somewhere between 30mm or 45mm. They fit about like my old rims that were like 40mm
Update my boy I put those 22’s rims on my impala man it’s rubbing in the rear what kinda spring booster I need for the rear to stop scrubbing you know they different ones like cups and metal ones with screw on top and bottom I moved the plate up in both rears I wish I could send you a photo man some how
If it's rubbing on the plate you'll have to move it up with a bottle jack to get more room. The lifters won't fix that rub, they only help if the tire is rubbing on the body
Ok it’s not rubbing against the body and the plate have good clearance but I’ll move it up some more tho I checked inside fender well I don’t see no rubbing scratches or anything

When I turn sometimes or hit a bump I here a washing noise from the rear but I don’t see any scratches on the fender well unless the scruits causing the tire to hit the plate for some reason not tho bro

I have a 2007 impala and I have 18 inch rims would it screw with my speedometer?
No it won't mess up anything. You'll notice a small difference if you go to 24s though
@@89imp03 okay but even if they are different sized tires? Because I have regular 16’’ with 225 60 r16 the ones I want to put on are 235 55 r18s and their also impala rims too
@@stormchasingcny954 it won't affect anything. The overall diameter should be about the same.

It's best to do each corner like that to make sure everything fits

Ok but I also have a extra set tho that I bought a couple months ago which are 245-30-22 tho but when that set wear off I’ll just go on down to the 245-30-22 but I bet the rims going to look bigger in that 245 tho I’m not sure
@@spencespence5516 yeah the thinner tire will make the rim look a little bigger in contrast but that 255 will probably be more comfortable

Not quite. Depending on your wheels it'll give you some space away from the struts but it pushes the wheels out and you run the risk of rubbing on the fenders instead
Thanks cuz I'm having the same issue on my malibu it doest rub that much but idk if I should use spacers
@@thedrakebrazzers7432 do the Malibu's have the same suspension setup? A think spacer may help if it's just a small rub
Ay do you scrape bad when you turn hard ? And what about speed bumps ?
On a full turn it may have rubbed the plastic wheel well but nothing bad. if I hit a speed bump too fast the back tire would scrape a little against the wheel well opening
@@89imp03 yea, thank you bro I’ve been trying to figure out from 20 or 22. 22 look good on this cars Gaga’s wheel well but I don’t want to blow thru tired n money. I think the 20s what I will go with
@@Sloo.impala 20s will be the most comfortable and care free option. 22s look good but it makes you paranoid driving trying to avoid bad sections of the road everywhere you go

245/30/22 is the best for 22s in my opinion on these cars

I think you can get some from another car to put on but I'm not sure how intense the process is

Haven't fully mounted this set yet but I never had any issues with my other two sets on 22s on this car
What’s the name of those lifts you put on your car bro for the back scrubbing
Spring lifters or Spring Lox. That's what people use in the springs if tires are running against the fenders when you have people riding in the back

@@89imp03 hi how you doing today i have a question i know you work on your cars but today my car didn't want move while I was at gas station the gear go up and down but wouldn't go at all I waited into 30 mins and I was able to live the gas station rmp have raised up too while I was on the road coming home in my 2010 impala ltz
@@spencespence5516 could be a number of things, could be computer issues if it wouldn't recognize it was in gear but that shouldn't affect the temperature so that could be something else
What’s the lug nut pattern size ?
I think these are 5x114.3 but you shouldn't really have an issue with 5x115 either

They should fit as long as the rim offset is right. if anything you may have to bend the plate up a little more for the thicker tire.
What is the bolt pattern
5x114.3 is the official pattern but 5x4.5 works too
I have some 5x14.3 and every one I ask is telling me it's not going to fit I have a 2011 LT

Can anyone ride tho? I have 225 35zr 20's and decent shocks on a 2011 Impala and Nobody can ride... My sons like to ride and can't...
Yeah I never had an issue with people riding with me. Girl in the front, kid in the back trunk full of luggage and music and no issue
@@89imp03 Craaaaaazy... AF... I rub on the outside and I was scared that the dub deuces were going to blow but I'm going to put them up under there for sure. I did a test fit and seen where the touch, asked around but and a few people that has them gets them done at the shop. no DIYers are around any more.
@@ronaldbolden9514 if it starts to rub on the body you can always add some spring lifters in the back to keep it from bouncing/sagging
