    I'm currently considering moving to Bulgaria too to make it a residence, as it seems it make sence taxes (since as german I pay too much, especially not living here most of the time).

    Thanks. I'm planning on doing the same thing next summer -- spend two months in Bansko. The Four Leaf Clover looks like a good option for lodging.

      We loved Bansko and are looking forward to going back this summer as well. You can check out the Four leaf clover website for more info. They were great and just what we were looking for. Nothing to fancy nor to bare bones and having spent over two months there we meet a lot of great people. Maybe we’ll see you around.

    Thanks for the video. Great content on breaking out costs.
    Your sound recording has great fidelity and balance on my headset. Not sure if you have special equipment, but good work whatever you did.

    Great video guys! We just bought a home in Bankso to stay for the summers. To get out of the heat and crowds of Europe.

      Thanks! That's so awesome! We were quite tempted during our stay to do the same. We enjoyed it so much we are planning on returning this summer. Perhaps we will run into you in town.

    I pay $5 every 20 days for an Esim with A1. It includes some minutes, texting and 6 gigs of data. One of the best benefits of traveling is the cheap cell service. I’ve been to 4 countries so far and the most I’ve spent was $30 in the UK but I went overboard with the data there also and got their 30 gig plan. On average I’ve spent about $15 a month between 4 countries.

    • @TheWanderingHartz
      @TheWanderingHartz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing. That is quite inexpensive. As we mentioned in the video, we know we could pay less for phones and data.
      It makes sense for now to keep what we have, but that could change.
      Personally, some of our favorite benefits of travel are affordable food and accommodations! At least compared to the United States.

    I didn't pause the video, but I would have guessed $1500-1700 on average. You had a lot of places you could cut, like on the phone.
    The most important thing is if you are hitting your own cost targets, and it looks like you were doing great there. Like you started out saying, everyone spends their own way.

    • @TheWanderingHartz
      @TheWanderingHartz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There were certainly a lot of places we could have spent less as well as more! We hope this helps give an idea of what the costs can be.
      We wholly agree! Everyone has a different budget and levels of living and Bansko (and Bulgaria in general) is a great place to have a good quality of life for much less than in the United States.

    Wonderful breakdown good to compare to the other year.
    Have you thought of buying a vehicle in Bulgaria and then driving it all over Europe?
    Then storing it while traveling outside of Europe?

    • @TheWanderingHartz
      @TheWanderingHartz  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We would certainly do that if we decide on a EU base. Great idea!

      We originally found our stay from searching online and then realizing it was the same place another youtuber who is living in Bansko had stayed. You can watch our tour of it here th-cam.com/video/w0l4Yxxeyos/w-d-xo.html or read our articlel wanderinghartz.com/travel/a-e230-affordable-digital-nomad-coliving-apartment-in-bansko-bulgaria/

    Hi! Many thanks for the informative video 😊
    I checked coliving places for summer but the monthy prices seem to be 500eur or more. You mentioned around 200usd for a nice studio?
    Thanks!

    • @TheWanderingHartz
      @TheWanderingHartz  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad the video was helpful. Just remember that this video is from our stay in 2022. We had paid $250 ish for a studio at a local place. Prices have risen a little in the last two years. The best prices will be from locals and not on platforms like AirBnb and VRBO. The time of year matters as well. Summer is less expensive than winter but there's also the nomad fest at the end of June and most of the lesser expensive places can fill up for that time frame. Also a lot of places fill up early, so it may be harder to find something a month or two out around Nomadfest. We would suggest checking the FB groups for Bansko owners groups to see for more local availability.

    Would you please explain the toilet paper situation there? I understand that in some parts of Bulgaria, used toilet tissue goes into a waste bin rather than following other things into the plumbing system.
    I find this quite horrifying. What's the deal where you are?

    • @TheWanderingHartz
      @TheWanderingHartz  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This really depends on where you are staying in Bulgaria. In more rural areas or if you're hiking in the mountains you can expect to put the toilet paper in the waste bin. The places that we have stayed in Bulgaria, Sofia and Bansko the plumbing is up to western standards and you can flush normal. There are some places where you need to bring your own toilet paper so just make sure you have some on you all times. Thanks for watching!

    Hi. I have got a question if I may. How can you get a full medical cover in Bulgaria if you move form EU for example from Poland? Should I talk to a lawer or speak to the Bulgarian Health Department? Thank you

    • @TheWanderingHartz
      @TheWanderingHartz  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We are not familiar with EU or Bulgarian Health insurance. We have a private insurance that covers all of our travels (in multiple countries). I would start with the Bulgarian health department if your able.
      Thanks for watching.
