Oh the joy of always going back and forth between installing and servicing with the same truck. After 35 years of frying my brain, I have my van stocked for installing and my pick up with a decked drawer system set up for service. Yup, double the tools but in my mind, I think I’m happy. Good luck in your ventures and keep up with the great videos!!
After being in a van for many years I now like the Truck with a work shell. And I also have a roll out bed shelve. mount everything to that and just click and pull out the whole bed to access everything easy.
Looking great dude. 2 possible suggestions.. for the sides add the packout mounting block to the back wall so you can clip in parts cases.. and for the back of the truck consider a bed slider. We had one for years saves on the knees and back. We had our set up with bins on each side just pull it out when you get to the job and go
Whenever I had a truck set up like that I had a bed slide, it prevents climbing in and out of it works pretty well. Might give it a look. I currently run a Ford Transit 250 for my day job, and a F250 service body for others. Keep up the good work.
Parts on the passenger side, tools on the driver’s side. I took all the bins out of 3 of my pack out’s to put capacitors, contactors, relays in it really just keeps them together. Duals in 1, fan caps in 1, relay and contactors in the last one.
👍 I have a similar ARE topper (slightly taller), with a bed slide added. Same back doors with windows. Lights throughout. Hate climbing in & out, so that bed slide is paying off. My truck is oriented around overlanding or towing, with my off-road gear (straps, ropes, traction pads, pumps, etc), repair tools, and towing stuff (receivers, leveling pads, etc) inside. In the side compartments, I keep some common off-road stuff and similar on the drivers side (stuff not likely needed beside a busy highway), while the passenger side has my favorite tools and similar (stuff perhaps needed beside a busy highway).
Love the set up with the drawers, I've worked out of all types of service trucks (vans, utility body's, pick up, and for a week while my truck was broken a corvette) and no matter what you end up with you end up having to make you storage systems. Nothing ever fits quite right and usually leaves a bunch of dead space. Excited to see what the final set up looks like.
Pretty sweet man. I started driving those Ford econolines then upgraded to the high roof transit. Boy oh boy is it night and day. If you ever upgrade. Highly highly highly suggest getting a high roof van.
Keep parts only in the side bins, tools in the bed and work something out for the backseat. Reason is it’s wayyyy to easy to break into those side doors. Also get an alarm that covers all the doors and get a locking tailgate or puck locks on those back doors.
Definitely overthinking a lot, but having spent a while working out of a very similar truck cap the bin system is going to be a lifesaver, but trying to keep all of everything in a box is a little excessive. I really like the bins purpose built for spray cans and stuff just out of sheet metal. When something is built specifically for a job it’s not really possible to do anything out of a box.
Get a decked drawer system in the bed or a pack rat. Throw a bed slider on top. Decrease the time of crawling in that thing. Some sort of drawer slides for the parts side bin gives alot of capacity.
I have the same set up but with a ram 2500. And I put in a Bedslide so I don’t need to climb in an out I can slide everything out and access what I need. It’ll make your life easier.
I would hate the drawers up at the front. You have to climb in everytime you need something, and it will really suck if you have a lot of stuff in the truck. But, I'm guessing you keep a clean rig unlike me so it may not be an issue.
Thanks for the great videos! I started watching your channel this past winter. You inspired me to make the leap I have always wanted to do. After 23 years in the field and the Last 6 years at Carrier Commercial Service, I left the Corporate world and started my own company. One man operation working out of my pick up truck! It’s going great, and I always look forward to seeing your new videos.
I’ve had about three of those ARA shells super great shells you should’ve got the doors skinned on the inside that way if something falls and hits the door it doesn’t show the dent on the outside painted panel.
The biggest thing I had issues with working out of a cap was the back corners constantly got full of junk but I don’t think you’ll have that problem you’re much neater and tidier than I am just by nature
That's a nice topper. I've got the same one for my 6ft bed. It was a game changer for my truck. I would like to take my back seat out but I have to drive my kids with me from time to time so unfortunately I can't do that. Looks good man
Need to look into a bed slide so u don't have to climb into the truck. I put inside door skins to keep stuff from making diets from the inside out. I got the same set up almost but I was able to get lights all the way around and in the back.
That a nice topper I have the same truck but with a true crew cab 4 door I just fold my back seats down and all my parts, tanks everything I need. But it's all cramed in there. How much did that topper cost you with the ladder rack?
Just saying those packout boxes waste a ton of space in a pickup you would be much better off building a set of slide out drawers. That run the full length of the bed. Then you could sell all them pack out boxes and take a vacation LOL
I’m a van guy. Why would anyone want a pickup truck?? Difficult access to your stuff. I like the exterior access storage; though it looks a bit light duty.
good morning i'm in brazil Cuiaba city mato groso see your videos i follow you on yutub i'm crazy about tools here in brazil it's hard to buy good tools that you use are top we don't have refrigeration stores that sell these top brands that you use there yours day day service milwaukee and show top . I could leave here a link to the stores where you buy tools in the united states of your city. which sells on the net.
Sorry man but if you would just get an f250 service truck and it would solve all your needs. I hate using a regular truck for service. It’s useless for a real service tech that does installs like you. You should already know this since your a professional with lots of experience.
I like to look at everyone else's tools and stuff and steal ideas.... good video !! Look forward to seeing it all loaded.
Right, it's much easier to see something good and copy it rather than designing our own from scratch.
Service body truck is the way to go.

Do a complete truck tour showing how you organized your tools and equipment.

Bed slide for sure
I was thinking this too

Why the f$ck would someone give you a thumbs down just jealous but you definitely earned it with your tradesmanship and craftsmanship
Truck is going to look great. It took me a full year to get my f250 we’re I wanted it I ended up get the decked system. Worth every penny.
Love the set up with the drawers, I've worked out of all types of service trucks (vans, utility body's, pick up, and for a week while my truck was broken a corvette) and no matter what you end up with you end up having to make you storage systems. Never been in Northern tool before! Thanks for the tour!

I have a similar set up. I have a bed slide though. It’s a must for that set up at my age. No climbing into the bed of the truck.
I have that cap with the fold up door in the back and tailgate. I added a bed slide and that made a big difference. I really enjoy the videos.
Thanks for posting this video. It helped me when ordering my own camper top.

I love the back seat set up I’m going to do that for mine I’m single with no kids so no problems for me. Thanks for the lessons you rock
This is out of control!!!! Good vibes brother, great video, much love

Good suggestion. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this video. Super helpful and well-presented. Your time and effort is most appreciated!

I think you should get a decked slide,Looks like pain keep climbing to get tools or Work Van be better.Awesome video. Thank you.
Good video man. Truck's gonna look great.
I can’t even imagine running service calls out of anything smaller than my T250 LWB. Looks good though.
I believe those white top, red “ Compact Boxes” are actually Milwaukee coolers.
Hey pro I like 👍🏻. Congratulations 🍾 break one for it. I am new to the field and I am learning a lot from you. Keep it up
Keep growing dude. I like what's coming next !!!.
You’re so lucky to have a Northern Tool store near you.👍Here in NYC we only have the catalog or website 😭. Good luck with the new set up👍.
I had my truck set up like that when I started my business but got a van now. I'd never go back to a pickup.
Would love to see the drawers all laid out once you fill them up!
Looking good, good luck with her...
I don’t know why this makes me wanna go back to a truck and a cap!
You need to add a pipe holder to that ladder rack.
Nice, sweet deal, good job and good luck.
That truck looks good 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Congratulations 🎊 👏🏾 much more success
I have the same topper on my 2012 ram 1500 crew cab, and every door on the topper leaks. I dont have the barn doors, I kept my tailgate.
Pack Rat in the bed is the best.
Good job!!!! Congratulations keep moving up
Awesome rig man!
I built slide out drawers and have a ton of space
That a nice topper I have the same truck but with a true crew cab 4 door I just fold my back seats down and all my parts, tanks everything I need. But it's all cramed in there. How much did that topper cost you with the ladder rack?
Thats a cool setup 😎
I’ve been haven ideas on using packout system for my parts, if its not much could you make a video on how you store your parts
Would like to see an update of how it looks nice bro
a man with many ideas lol
Good job 👏
Did you drop a video update of what your storage looks like in your new topper?

Can you fit a condenser and air handler inside the bed of the truck with that topper?
Hey Bruh, did you do a video on your truck all set up with tools, parts & freon tank ect...
How does that topper attach to your truck -bolts through the bed rail or clamps?
4:00 cute, yes, screwdriver...
Yeah buddy! looka good
Now you need a Bedslide
Any video coming on ACE topper final setup??
Would you still pay the extra money for the barn doors? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it
what about some kind of slide out unit main cargo area?
Would you ever consider a utility truck chassi?
……with that topper I’d go with a full bed slide
where do you keep your refrigerant tanks?
Looks bad ass
Hi can you fit 4x8 drywall sheets?
Would be rude if I ask how much did you pay for the topper ?
How much did this topper run you? Im looking to get a topper for my electrical company
Hi There whats the distance between the toolboxes?
Need a slide out 👍
What’s that “protection”? On your veto?
What kind of seat covers do you have?
I have a 05 dodge 2500 but i cant find any
Where can i find one like yours dude !!!
Nice
I love this jop
I'm from egypt
Wouldn’t it be easier in a cargo van more space?
So you crawl in there every time you need to get something?
Add a bed slide. Only way to work out of a truck
Just saying those packout boxes waste a ton of space in a pickup you would be much better off building a set of slide out drawers. That run the full length of the bed. Then you could sell all them pack out boxes and take a vacation LOL
Can you upload video of your truck load out
I’m a van guy. Why would anyone want a pickup truck?? Difficult access to your stuff.

You need a slider.
