- The official visitors start arriving this week. During the show's first segment, I have the players' schedules and what to look for when they arrive. I also have a transfer portal update.--The Trojans are anticipating another player commitment at some during the week.
What will it be like when USC hires its next football player? That is a topic I talk about in the second segment. The NCAA has agreed that schools can pay players directly in 2025, and that will change the game as we know it forever.
Will the baseball team get a chance to play in the college World Series? That's the show's 3rd topic.

Some college football players if they make it to the nfl can actually say now. I took a pay cut to cone to this league.
With less than half of the NFL players having earned their degrees, how soon before attending class is optional?

The potential “silver lining” in the employee thing is maybe the transfer portal will suffer the consequences of the contracted players in that contracts can now be structured to keep players and create consequences for leaving the school they sign with, and pay structure can be created to “encourage” players to stay for a designated time. Hopefully the huge NIL bags will be replaced by more reasonable signing bonuses. I wish I was the attorney who is in charge of contract structuring!

How do you value commitments distant from the signing periods if there are decommitments ? What percentage do commitments predict to stick?

I wish I could get excited about recruiting but now that it's all about money I've lost interest. I really don't care who outbids who and which 17 year old gets $2 million. Sad to see this happening to what was a great game.

Don't think so. Duece is a walk on for the baseball team. I don't know if walkons will get paid or not.
He was a good enough baseball player that he could have gotten the baseball scholarship.

How come we aren’t recruiting Chris Henry Jr? It’s odd to know although he’s committed to Ohio State, why would he come all the way out from his high school in Ohio to play for Mater Dei? Is it possible he’s considering playing for Coach LR?
Need players even be enrolled students at all, Marc? If players are "employees," they don't have to be students, too. Do I understand the settlement to mean that programs now have $20m salary caps? I've been arguing for caps for a few months now.
I think the “academic” aspect will be optional
NIL sponsorship is a whole other animal. Meaning, even if there is a “cap”, there are ways around it.

It’s going to be interesting to see how they divide the money . Is all the money for 0:13 football or do all the other sports team get a cut. And just like a professionals how do you determine how much you pay each player. College sports was a way young people to get a college education. It’s all about the money and that’s really sad

IT'S NOT "happy" memorial day! It is not like Veterans Day. It is a solemn day to remember the war dead. Nothin happy about it. I hate it when people thank me for my service on this day - because I always came back and get to live and grow old. The honor is to those who did not get to come back but for a flag dropped coffin or worse.

If the players are employees will they even have to attend classes? Maybe education will be optional? i do wonder if this will hurt the sport long term. College football without it's traditions becomes the minor leagues. Why watch the minor leagues just go watch the NFL.
