after his last experience with a body shop I'm not surprised that he's trying to make sure it gets done properly. most genuine bodyshops understand the cause for concern especially if their customers have had bad experiences prior. I was the same when my evo was getting fixed took 12 months for a 2 month job and at the end of it they left cardboard in the engine bay, missing bolts for the bodykit, had overspray, missing grills and my wheels weren't torqued up and came loose on the way home lol
This is how you take a perfectly balanced car, amazing handling and completely ruin it for aesthetics. No point engine swapping, it'll drive like ass now thr geometry is ruined
I really hope this works out for you. And if they do a good job, well then they just got free advertisement. After what happened w/ the last guy, I'm sure there's going to be ppl looking for someone who does good bodywork. So, 🤞
It’s surprising to me how many shops be doing some sloppy ass work not just with your experience but I’ve only found about 1 shop out of hundreds that actually do some professional work for what you pay. I’ve learn to just do it myself tbh but sometimes you have to go to someone for specialty work
You have to go with the 2gr v6. The sound profile will match the car better then the k series. And this is coming from someone with a k swapped spyder already
Not really my dads runs an upholstery shop and we take deposits for every job for all the materials and they get put on the schedule for a date we will have time for them to bring it in most shops don’t communicate with the clients and give them unrealistic dead lines because they don’t wanna lose the job instead being upfront and honest in our shop we have clients cars that won’t be started till next month but we tell the client before hand that we are booked and 9/10 of them are okay with it and understand

I'm exited to see it done. I order my body kit from luxurycarpart I got a similar kit the lp super warrento .. I got my car at RCautoworks getting my k24a2 built and transmission at the moment . I love the wheels looks like u went to a 5 lugs conversion. Seen ur car with out the rear bumper I'm tempted to do rear bumper delete and throw a twin turbo rear mounted like u say with a thin brake likes like a lambo ..
i personally avoid shops that have junkyard cars laying around. every car in the shop has be in progress or on a lift. if they business looks professional and clean then I can trust theyll do clean work.

You should let then do it all man .. I know you are a DIY but letting the do all the body making it perfect in the long run would be cheap than having to go back and make it sooo much cleaner when you lay wraps .. this body shop looks motivated .. I can't wait to see the finished product

Get rid of it bro it’s a money pit .. just buy the new Supra and tune it for the weekend drives . If you like mid or rear engine just buy a new corvette under warranty or get the new nsx . I use to own a mr2 wide body and my friend had a Mr-s wide body the money we dumped on it was like 30k plus where I’m like this car is a money pit get rid of it .

if you were to run no back bumper you would need a turbo on each side of the engine for something to look at with some big ollllll exhaust tips.

That white jzx90 is not a chaser, it is a mark2. It is the same chassis just different body and trim.
Leave the bumper off, go cyberpunk taillights and bottom mount turbo.
