    This superstar..who was so in charge and in control while on stage ...almost has a boyish shy way about him in this interview....fidgeting and at times searching for the right words...again showing what a superstar performer he was......what a smart and creative and genuinely decent person he was...

      He said many times what you saw on stage wasnt him. He was pretending to be this flamboyant rock star but as a man, he was nothing like that. In real life he was kind of a quiet soft spoken squirrely little guy.

    I saw at least 5 eyerolls 🙄 in the first 3 minutes! 😊 I'd get annoyed with the media too, always the same overdramatic questions, trying to get a reaction out of you... Just imagine if this man had lived longer and graced us with that voice for many more years to come, oh how lucky we would be! 😢❤️🎼🎸

    Gorgeous Freddie, so shy and uncomfortable under this kind of scrutiny. He looks like he wants to hide behind something very large 💖 This is a GOOD interview. Showcases his intelligence, articulation, and greater knowledge of his field. He has so much to say. Very cute at the end when he puts the album in front of his face - I'm done, get out of my mind 🤣🤣

    Freddie was so different in the 70's than he was in the 80's. He was so diffident and sweet in interviews then. As soon as he cut his hair and grew the moustache it's like his persona changed dramatically! He seemed to become more brittle and annoyed in interviews, and also much more confident. What do other people think? I saw an insta post with a picture of 70's Freddie next to 80's Freddie saying, no one can tell me this is the same person! And I kind of get that. He was evolving before 1980, for sure, but then it was like, bam, change overnight.

    His voice was so lovely when he did not smoke. Now that I have seen the film, I do feel that Rami Malek was too old to play Freddie in his youth. Look at him here, he is just shiny with youth and intelligence that did not come across in the film at all.

      @Diane-wp4ju 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      @Nina Totally agree. No disrespect to Rami's attempted portrayal of Freddie, or the movie's Hollywood treatment of the story, but I think it's mission impossible. Freddie was SO unique that to capture his essence across 15 years couldn't work. Rami did a better representation of 80's Freddie, but didn't capture the glow, inexperience or insecurity of youth....despite obvious intellect. 1970's Freddie as a performer oozed sex appeal at an insane level. That just didn't come across. Rami actually looked confused at one point.

    Although I like Rami, the more I look at Freddie actually talking the less I like his performance. I think the cookie-cutter attitude lead to bad directing where it's like everything Freddie says is some stone cold Shakespeare line utterance to make him seem eccentric and shy, but the way he actually speaks is very expressive and natural. The film really doesn't capture his subtlety.

      johnbazy Freddy was inimitable. No one could capture him entirely. But Rami did a fine job. My disagreement with BoRhap is that Freddy was not singing many of the songs. Just compare what came before with the end when we see him singing. What a difference.

    • @TheaterPup
      @TheaterPup 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Of course the way he actually speaks is natural, it's not a movie. That doesn't mean the movie lacks subtlety.

    • @TheaterPup
      @TheaterPup 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@lindainglis8506 Freddie (not Freddy) was singing the songs in the movie actually. It was a blend of his voice (using master recordings), Martel's and Malek's. But Freddie is most definitely singing throughout the movie. Some of the songs are the live versions, that's why some fans don't recognize them I think.

    I have maybe a wider sexual taste than most people, but that’s as far as I’m going to go."He said: "I couldn’t fall in love with a man the way I could with a girl."

    This fan at 59 years old was there for News of the world Tour Jazz tour two shows the game tour four shows Hot space tour four shows sadly they didn't to America for the works or magic tours but I saw Brian 1993 in Hollywood on the back to the light tour.... I know Adam Lambert fan I wish I would have rather had a tour of Rodger and Brian sharing lead vocal duties with a set list like no loser in the end tenement funster someday one day I'm in love with my car good company Long away drowse all dead sleeping on the sidewalk fight from the inside rocket sail away sweet sister oh I missed the jazz songs leaving homemade easy fun it more of that jazz top of the world ma on my way up nation of haircut's among others however I will never protest brian and rogers right to carry on as they see fit. It's their legacy their life their music if anything they look at it has celebrating Freddie's life through some of his music and not as a replacement for him after all it is called Queen AND Paul Rodgers or Queen AND Adam Lambert it's not called just Queen. When I listen to the song I like to prefer to listen to them as they were with Freddy but that's just my personal taste that don't mean that I questioned or and upset at Brian and Roger continuing to do as they see fit. More power to them !!!!

      Нет, из вашего замечания видно, что вы не знаете языка в той мере, чтобы понять характер Фредди. Нет, нет в нем ни бравады ни самоуверенности. В интервью 80 х - там есть flamboyance, но и там это выражено опять же с присущей ему в зрелые годы иронией, непринятием себя всерьез слишком. Здесь, в свои 30, он выглядит таким, каким он был всегда и в более зрелые годы - внимательным, терпеливым, искренним и исключительно глубоким. Его речь отражает его образование, его поведение свидетельствует об отличном воспитании. Говорит по существу, уверенно, язык богатый лексически и структурно. Для изучающих английский - это интервью можно использовать для обогащения своего лексического запаса, для развития речи, способности отвечать на вопросы распространенными высказываниями.
      Фредди Булсара - при его уверенности с юности, что он способен быть заездой, при его сценической браваде, гипнотическом владении многотысячной аудиторией, способности перевоплощаться - даже за сценой уже был совсем другим, чем его представляла толпа. Скромный и застенчивый, он всегда нуждался в 2х-3х своих людях ( Foebe= Peter Freestone, его персон.ассистент, кто- либо или все три музыканта Queen - всегда были рядом, Мary Osteen также сопровождала его в некоторых поездках как личный секретарь).
      Так что " я - сама свобода" - эта flamboyant обличие было им избрано, да и то, опять, на сцене, как дань времени и публике, и в жизни только в эпоху баров, выпивок и недолгого баловства кокаином ( дань моде тех лет), на знаменитых его вечеринках по случаю дня рождения и Нового года. Он не стал ни алкоголиком ни аддиктом. Получал удовольствие пребывать в кругу близких, был не самым разговорчивым, когда не за коллективной работой. Талантлив, движим работой, и просто исключительно хорошо воспитанный человек - он всегда как первоочередное - помнил о работе, и обо всех членах группы. Это было его предложение - вместо оплаты каждому за его песню ( а он был самым плодовитым, за ним Браян Мэй) - делить гонорары поровну на всех четверых. Мало того - он всегда поощрял и помогал другим двум сочинять, относятся к ним как равным, и они, с такой поддержкой - стали авторами номеров, достойных уровня Queen.
      Изучать Фредди Меркури, его эволюцию, его жанры внутри жанра и за его пределами ( совместная работа с Монсеррат Кабалье), вдумываться в его лирику/слова песнн, баллад, узнавать о нем больше и больше, без штампов, предвзятостей и лейблов, без российской гомофобии ( вы знаете, о чем я) - это огромное обогащение, и сейчас эта волна интереса и даже обсессии - больше, чем даже при его жизни. Получайте удовольствие, радуйтесь, что так много материала, снимков, воспоминаний. И те, кто любили и любят Фреди, посвятили свое время и усилия, чтобы донести до всех, старых поклонников и новых, открывших для себя лучшего фронтмена всех существовавших рок групп - автора, певца, любимого друга, милого, застенчивого, нуждающегося в постоянной поддержке и любви близких. И неустанного творца, любящего своих слушателей.

      @@leto757 Я написала вам большое, очень информативное и интересное, по моему, послание, потом сокоатила, убрала все, что могло не понравится " цензору", хотя и не было ни одного ненормативного слова, и не было политики. Кто-то там у вас, в якобы демократическом об-ве, явно не согласен со всемирной любовью и высочайшего оценкой Ф.М., как музыканта и человека. Все неправы, и вам , там, надлежит чувствовать и интересоваться "звездами " своими. Как и прежде, ничего нового
      И мое к вам дружеское послание с инфо из первоисточников, от обширного сейчас опубликованного со взрывом интереса после далеко не лучшего фильма. - но спасибо ему за этот интерес и взрыв. Но, к сожалению, английский, да еще и британский - еще непосилен в полноте и нюансах для многих русскоязычных. И я хотела помочь. Не разрешили. Не тем, видимо, вы интересуетесь. И дружеская переписка на неодобренную свыше тему - ни-ни. Попробую дать мой емейл.

    If he was not comfortable with interviews, why did he bother , putting himself out there, this fellow had so many parts to him, very complicated, some say he was timid at times, but his tragic lifestyle, says the opposite

      Freddie did a lot of interviews in the 70s promoting their albums and music, but the press always misrepresented them and made him out to be arrogant so he stopped giving interviews in the 80s. There are only a few interviews from the 80s mostly with David Wigg (who he trusted) ; David Wigg did not release the tapes of the interviews until after Freddie died.
