You Sold me on the x pipe! i have been thinking about getting one for my 2018 Speedmaster ,but just thought it would be a lot of work . But i think I can do it even with out a fiance lift like you have. thank for doing your videos. Cheers Mate
Thanks for great installation video ! I have been thinking about getting a Delkevic " Full 2-2 Exhaust Triumph Bonneville Bobber 16" stainless curved out tip mufflers" or Zard stainless steel header pipes + BC drag pipes for my 2022 Triumph Bobber. After watching your video, I may consider Motone X pipe and aftermarket exhaust ( Vance & Hines or Arrow ) .
Other than changing the sound, I wonder what other advantage there is to an X pipe. I see it tends to block air flow past the bottom of the motor and transmission. It appears to me to be a good idea to remove the catalytic converter which would act like a hot plate right under the motor. Why heat a motor when a motor is supposed to cool?
Don’t know why, but I always thought the triumph when set in idel it sounds like ED209 from robocop movie when he falls down the stairs and starts screaming.
I enjoyed your installation video. Thanks. I’m seriously considering chucking a Motone X-pipe onto my 2020 Speedmaster. Can you tell me about warranty implications? New subscriber from Saskatoon, Canada.
I have not looked into that since my bike is 3 years old this summer. Thank you for the appreciation. The sound is worth the replacement, in my point of view 😊
This video is not very helpful. You say we’re going to take off such and such but then you don’t show taking it off. So how do we know what the steps are. Same for putting it back together, you skip showing the proper install. For someone like me who just bought a Speedmaster and is a visual learner this video is useless.
Typical half assed job by some kid at the dealer. Luckily nothing was pinched or rubbing away. The 865s won't gain much power with the cat delete/x-pipe, but someday if you upgrade the cam to a 303 you'll be sit'n good. I'm wondering how hard it would be to use some of the forward controls off other Bonneville models like yours, and find a way to make it work on my Speed Twin? I have crash bars, but they sit too far back to utilize them for highway pegs.
Thanks for posting such a good video. About to tackle this job on my 2023 SM. I've checked and nothing is welded to the CAT!
Hope you have started making videos again after a long lay off 👍
I did the x pipe , Zard slip ons - and air box elimination kit! Much lighter zippier and the sound from the Zard’s!! Amazing! 🤙🏻
Cool configuration 👍😎

Glad to hear that - enjoy the upgrade 😊
Great video, just received my de-cat pipe for my 2022 Speedmaster. I need to set some time aside for the installation 👍 very soon
I wish you a job well done 👍
Did you gas milage change ? how many miles to the tank us mpg ? does it run cooler and did it change the power of the bike.

Both look awesome!
Thank you!!!

Now lets get some nice aftermarket pipes on it!
Coming up ;-)

You have twenty seconds to comply…
Allow me to add . . . which after-market pipes are you leaning toward? British Customs, perhaps? Cheers.
I put Vance & Hines on it. I like the look and luckily the sound was just as I hoped. I have uploaded a video with the new exhaust.
Thanks for the video,no fault codes after installing?
Is it necessary to remove tank and radiator ?

Will this affect the MOT ?
A good question. It’s on the to-do list, but I haven’t dug into that yet.

Okay, thank you for sharing your point of view. If you are looking for detailed guidance you might find a Haynes manual more helpful.
