These are also often sold in hardware stores an online via suppliers like Farnell. They're usually labelled as 'cable glands' but it's exactly the same thing. And yes they're awesome :)
Love these things! They're a bit of a pain when working on a blind surface, though. Had to "hire" one of the neighborhood kids to slip his tiny little hand up under the dash and hold the nut in place. Only cost me a grilled cheese sandwich, though!
these look great, trouble is im looking for something exactly like this. but with more distance on the pass thru side. need something that can attach to a thick wall box, not a paper thin one.
does it get old that you cant even message on someones video without someone mentioning raffis mom? Ive noticed it on alot of different videos, just wondering if it gets old?
Steve you should look at the ones from Lapp USA, they are industrial grade, part number S2112 and a few others sizes. I use them on my industrial motor control centers. all the way up to 15KV
Steve, I know you have a forum to do this, but I hope you can answer this question real quick: I want to do a big 3 hookup to my 1998 mexican classic beetle (aircooled), but doing the less cutting and drilling possible. Power wire is already figured out, but the problem is the ground wire since it comes out the battery, and its ring terminal is held with a nut to a stud that is welded to the floorpan/body of the car. If I replace the stud with a through bolt and run a wire from the engine block to that bolt from underneath the car, and connect the battery negative wire on the inside of the car, just like the original wire, will it work the same as running two separate ground wires from the battery?
Doesn't everyone use glands? These are nylon ones. You can get them from any electrical store. If you get the ones with the gaskets it makes it much easier for both installation and waterproofing. Make sure you use a gland plate if you have a few going into thin metal, otherwise there may not be enough metal to support the holes.
Has anyone else noticed that the people who are famous for making car audio videos for TH-cam are no longer comfortable with doing a lot of talking in their videos? Fucking internet trolls have ruined another nice community and filled the place up with cocks. 5 years ago everyone was super enthusiastic and excited to do this stuff... Now so many people argue and it is difficult to see the fucking point. I still appreciate the videos Steve. I like these little things that kinda gives us guys the heads-up on what cool things to look out for on the market. Even now though, I'm looking through the comments and seeing shit like "no. dont use those. use these instead." I've had enough of it. Maybe i need to be exposed to the grown up side of it but car audio is looking childish from where i'm sitting.
i have no idea what you are talking about. I always talk in my video's. Sometimes i keep it simple, sometimes i talk a lot. Always been this way, nothing has changed. You are right about the trolls though.
That's why this is the only car audio channel I follow. Always seeing some product or something being done that I've never seen before

Nice work. He uses one grommet per cable to make sure it really seals the water and fumes out.
I use those all the time, actually made to run cords into conduit box's for outdoor installs. You can get them in plastic or metal.
Do the hole face the inside or the outside of the car ??
I have used them for many years here in Sweden! Awezome shizzle!
Always with the best quality equipment👌🏽

@0:06 @meade916 do you need to spray a coat of paint to prevent rust ?

seems like it will work like one run not two. But it should work the same as the stud did.
Gotcha. Thanks for the reply.
