Nice work on the PB, Mark! Love how you turned this park run into a full-on ‘sandwich’ with the 18K long run - and still smashed it! I’m also impressed with your dedication to the ‘say good morning, thank the marshals’ rule - definitely made me smile. And beware, winter is coming, hehe! Keep pushing those limits, buddy!
Cheers, Mihai 👍 I'm keen to do more parkrun sandwiches in future. That nice warm up jog to get to the venue is great. The dreaded winter is definitely on the way. I think I'll be into ultra training again in the really dark, muddy months. Wet, cold feet incoming! 😁
NENDY. parkrun sandwich. You've got all the lingo going on 😂 Great run, congrats on the pb and it looks like a lovely parkrun. (have to say my 5k is 22.08 which I thought was uncanny when I watched your channel for the first time!)
I know mate. I'm really down with the kids when it comes to running lingo 😂 I was really happy with the 22:08, but I just seem to be on a roll at the min Kent, and I managed to squeeze just under it with this one. Can't complain 🙂👍 Cheers!
That's a whopping PB, Mark. The course didn't look very fast, so on a faster course probably much faster (maybe even faster than Garmin estimates). Absolutely smashed it!
Nailed your target pacing, well done Mark! Congrats on the PB, and it must have been even sweeter having stuck in-between more running. Great training session.
Well done mate. That was a novel way to run a parkrun, nice long warm up, then the run, then nice long jog back. Obviously it worked for you. Congrats on the new PB. I like the commentary throughout the race.
Cheers mate. It worked out just right. I need a good warmup. Might have to time it a bit better so I'm not hanging around before the start next time though 👍
Indeed! I've only done 2 at this point, but a free 5k race/ not race at various nice locations sounds like a running idea. I'll be checking out some other locations soon.
Wow it is cold there now, great idea to run to the park run. That is a nice trail but lots of traffic. Lady in orange giving you a good run. 21:53 is awesome and it was a little long
Thanks mate. The season is definitely changing. Cold and rain is starting to feel normal now. I'm enjoying these new parkrun routes and there are a few more local to me that I can have a go at 👍
I was just thinking that given it was the B course, and knowing the route, that your performance suggests a Sub 21 on a flat road course. I see Mr Garmin agrees. The feller one place in front of you, Andy Wetherill, is a legend. He was winning races in the area as a V45 when I was but a youth in my early 30s. I think you should go for all your first 50 parkruns being in different counties. 'I've got my Grant' , they'll say in years to come. Finally, if you keep saying race parkrun HQ will be sending the boys round.
You and Mr Garmin are like birds of a feather mate 😁 I didn't realise I was running with local running royalty. That's really cool. I wish I'd noticed what he looked like now, Mr Wetherill. I heard myself saying race all the time in the edit and was tempted to correct it but just thought, I'll call it what I want lol. I was racing after all 🏃♂️💨 Nice idea for a challenge. Perhaps I could go to a different country on every 5th one as well, just to make it interesting... 🤔
That was narrow to start with! Well done with the winter course PB 👏 Do you know you can get your Parkrun barcode ID on your watch? Just means you'll never forget it 😉
Mate you're flying at the minute. We'll impressive mid run. Clearly upcoming races are going to be more than interesting 👍 great job well done
Cheers mate! I've been inspired by your parkrun tourism 😁👍 I think it's Mansfield next time I do one.

Well done on your new pb Mark. Can’t believe you didn’t TH-cam the course pre-run 😁 I thought that was an essential part of any new route 😂
Thanks! I do have a tendency to do a video recce of any new courses 😄
Yes Mark! Nailed it mate! 👏👏👏 That was a cracking parkrace performance mate! Congrats on the new PB! 😎🤘
Cheers mate 👍 😁 Can't believe you called it a race though. I hardly ever do that all the time 😂 #parkrace
Wow! Nice PB Mark! I quite like this voice over format!!! Well done on both the fitness and the filmography side 👍
Thanks, Steph 👍 The good thing about the voice over is that I'm not out of breath while I'm talking, which makes a nice change 😀
NENDY. parkrun sandwich. You've got all the lingo going on 😂
Great run, congrats on the pb and it looks like a lovely parkrun.

Thanks mate! I'll find a nice easy course one day but these park ones are quite fun. I'm really happy with my speed improvements lately.
Now that’s impressive - getting a PB as part of your long run - well done!!!
Thanks, Rachel 🙂 I need a long warmup to get the creaky legs going, but was cooling down quite a bit before the start. It worked out well though 😁👍
Congrats on the sub22 I got my pb sub 22 at parkrun last week too! Although I will say this course looks tricky in comparison. Well done!
Cheers mate 👍 Well done to you too! All the best runners go sub 22 😄💪
Time to upgrade the watch I think. :) Congrats on the PB.
Cheers! I was well pleased with the PB. Now I need a watch that can cope with my immense speed 😄👍
Nailed your target pacing, well done Mark! Congrats on the PB, and it must have been even sweeter having stuck in-between more running. Great training session.
Thanks, Sean 👍 Got to love a nice PB, and the local parkrun routes are turning out to be really nice.
Brilliant! Congratulations Mark! Your running is going really well ❤
Thanks, Angela 😊 I'm enjoying it at the moment. I hope yours is going well too 👍
Great running, looked like you were storming on sections of that parkrun, great work and epic PB 🙌🙌🎉🎉
Cheers! I've managed to string together some consistent training and it's starting to show. It was worth it after all! 😁👍
Well done mate. That was a novel way to run a parkrun, nice long warm up, then the run, then nice long jog back. Obviously it worked for you. Congrats on the new PB. I like the commentary throughout the race.

If we had park runs here in Pennsylvania I'd do them too. Great fun video.

Congrats on the sub 22 Mark, imagine what you could do on a flatter, smoother course! I see you're a parkrun convert now 😂
Thanks, Chloe 😁👍 I'm trying to imagine that nice, flat, smooth course as we speak. It's takes a lot of imagination when you're in North Derbyshire 😂
Wow it is cold there now, great idea to run to the park run. That is a nice trail but lots of traffic. Lady in orange giving you a good run. 21:53 is awesome and it was a little long

That didn’t look like a PB course so 21:53 is excellent Mark✅
Thanks a lot, Andy 😄👍 I don't think there are any PB courses within 100 miles of my house 😂😂 I need to move somewhere flat lol.
Great video mark and brilliant run mate!
Cheers TQ 👍 👊
Lovely looking parkrun, well done on a PB! Bodes well for next time you're racing a 5k on a full tarmac route.
Cheers, Jess 👍 I'm going to make my way around a few of the other local parkruns. I think Sheffield has a few good ones.
I've still only actually done two of the Sheffield ones. What with working on a Saturday, I only ever get to the closest ones!
Well earned. Congrats on your new PB!
Thanks a lot Sid. I was really happy with that one ☺️ 👍 How's your running going at the moment?
Mostly slow trail running. A lot of fun.
Cold up North! Great run, Mark. When's the marathon again?
It's chuffin' freezin' up 'ere lad, I tell thee! 🥶 I've got the half on 27/10 and marathon on 24/11. It's all creeping up now...
Did you know you can have your Parkrun barcode on your watch? Very handy!
Thanks for the reminder. I used to know this, before I had a parkrun number but I did forget 👍🙂

Yes, I'm glad someone warned me about the narrow star so I could get quite near the front. I've put the barcode onto my watch now mate, cheers 👍
