Inaccurate, it has to be done in a massive crowd of people in a cramped, sweaty gym with a slippery floor while wearing crappy shoes with almost no grip

If they were doing this test for military, they could have been disqualified way early. Almost all of them started running the line before the beeps. It was a fun video to watch though.

Loved this, and Rick made a great commentator! There were a few questionable moments where I don't think feet quite reached cones before turning, but it's all in good fun! I'd love to try this!

Brought back so many memories - although difficult, I did enjoy the beep test at school. It was an event where people couldn’t pick their team mates (me usually being last!) and it was just you against yourself. Having said that, I think I’ll leave giving it a go again at my age 😂 well done to all involved, including Rick (amazing to see you!). Sarah’s running has improved so much since she trained for her marathon - keep it up, lady! 💪🏻

To get on the show SAS who dares wins you need to be able to do a bleep test of level 10.1. Sarah just made me think this is achievable. I am however a long slow miles runner like anna.

I was never a runner when I was in school. Now I’m learning how to in my thirties. I use to give up after the first or second level, even when our teacher would yell for me to keep going. I’d just sit down like a tired dog and not move. 😂 I should give it a go sometime and see how I do now.

I wanted to Sarah for the win, but went by Andy.
We did not do this pacer thing in school in Finland. Well, we had a version but it was for sit-ups not running. We did cooper test every bloody year. Over all at least my class didn't do a whole lot of running. Most of the running was either track or hurdles. Autumn was for track & field as well as some Finnish baseball. Winter was skating, ice hockey, or skiing mostly if too cold then inside playing something. Spring was for inside activities like basketball, floorball, gymnastics, swimming, trying different sports etc.

    Love these challenge videos.
Would you consider devising a run-bike-run duathlon challenge?
Example; you have two hours to complete the challenge, furthest distance reached wins. You must sandwich a bike ride between two runs. Use tactics to calculate optimum activity length within the two hour window.
Would be great to see some duathlon content.

I finished school in the 1970’s so this wasn’t even a “thing”! However, it was part of my hockey fitness regime & can’t say it was enjoyable, but did get the competitive juices flowing!! As well as being eliminated for missing a bleep, our coach eliminated us if we got to the turn too early! Perhaps the team ought to repeat the challenge in 6 months time?!

  • @cantworkitout

I used to enjoy the beep test back in school; I was pretty competitive when it came to stuff like this, and there were a few others in the same class as me who we were all competitive with each other about when it came to who was the better athlete, haha... Been a long time since I last did one; might have to try and give it a go for nostalgia sake... I think my best was 12.4, though not too sure i'd be hitting that these days, haha

I was level 3.7... I did it immediately after a warm up so was still recovering from that! It was then used in to sort us into ability groups for PE for year 9... I was put in the bottom set and the ability groups resulted in the entire class hating PE even more than we did before as we were treated as the fat unfit kids by the teachers - It put me off exercise big time - until I was in my mid 20's! - Most of the girls that were in my PE class still don't do any form of exercise even now. I was fortunate to find the fun in exercising as I got older - cycling to wonderful places with wonderful views and running in beautiful places and in a social way not in a way that made sure those who were not sporty were pushed out and bullied. I exercise for myself now not to be graded by teachers

@@DevonPixie1991 my school pe classes are such a similar experience. I'm 30 and love exercise. It's great for my mental health I love feeling strong and trying stuff. I HATED pe. The teachers, I'm pretty sure hated children. I'm actually really angry in hindsight that they took something that should be joyful and turned it into something I cried about regularly.
Same as you, I started walking just to get out of town, and wanted to go further and started cycling, and realising that it can be fun and social, and let you see new places. I found out the countryside existed. And parkrun. And group sports without passive aggressive school bullying.

Great video - the beep test is a classic. Has Andy ever beaten all 21 levels?
