- On July 13th, 2024, actress Shannen Doherty passed away after a cancer odyssey that lasted nearly 10 years. Although she had been dealing with the ramifications of her diagnosis for many years, and announced in 2023 that her cancer had reached a stage in which it was considered terminal, her death came as a shock to fans who had followed the 53-year-old actress's career since she began performing in the 1980s.

Even while aging, Shannen was always in high spirits everywhere she goes, not breaking a sweat on what she's accomplished for. Sad to see her life cut tragically short due to cancer.😞
She really lived 10 lifetimes compared to other people's lives.
My mother passed away 59 years ago and I vividly remember her struggle and the treatments that destroyed her body. People keep telling me how much better the treatments are today. When I look at Shannon Dougherty's face, she looked a lot like my mother.
I am sorry she had to struggle with this devastating disease. I hope she is resting at peace now.
That's how my Pastor's brother passed away. He had gone into remission & the doctors decided he need one more (very unnecessary) round of chemo & it ended up killing him. So yep I definitely see where you're coming from on some cancer treatments

As someone who’s lost a parent to cancer, the only silver lining you can hold onto is at least they can finally, truly rest in peace now… they don’t have to struggle here anymore
She was my first crush on 90210. One episode that had a real impact on me was the time she was a call operator for a helpline, and she got attacked, before the time of cell phones, with no way of contacting anyone at the time. It was a very powerful episode. She will be sadly missed.

I’m a Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor, in remission since 2001. I was diagnosed with high risk smoldering multiple myeloma last summer, which means at some point in the next 2-3 years or so the myeloma will become active. It’s terminal, but a slower moving cancer. I don’t need treatment yet. It’s pretty damn terrifying, my worst nightmare since 2001. I feel so awful for Shannon. I remember watching her since Little House. May she rest in peace. 😓🙏🏻

as someone who grew up in my mid teens in the 90's i always watched her on 90210 and in CHARMED, the wise oldest sister of the 3, its such a tragedy, but she was strong till the end, she never gave up like a Pit Bull, she was and still is my favourite TV actress, i always thought she was special, RIP

I had a radical hysterectomy in 2015. A small "spot" was found on my left lung 2weeks ago. Had a PET scan and my Dr. said it's iffy. It could just be inflammation. I'm having a CT scan in 3 months to see what's going on.
To everyone who has or knows someone who has it, "I gonna love you through it ".
I too have a spot (nodule) in fact a few on my lungs, after just completing chemotherapy that was not good news for me. With ct scans every six months for the first few years after chemo, my nodules have not grown. I can’t tell you not to worry, I still worry, but not everything is doom and gloom. Best of luck❤
