    I’m about to press the button on the Rommel kit, so it’s been good to see you working through this one.

      Hey Kristoff, thanks for watching and commenting! It's a really great kit at the end of the day (the non Rommel at least), but I'm sure that is like what, 90% the same?
      It doesn't come without it's need for the old modeling elbow grease, but man does it look good when it was finished. I had to set it aside once or two and come back to it, but it's one of my best looking kits even with the fit issues not being perfect, just from the shear level of detail on it.
      I can't give any other advice than press that button and get buildin' 🤣

    Im in the process of building this kit myself and I agree, it is beautifull. Ididn't have mayor fit issues like you did though. Have fun painting her!

      @@malemodeler7 Not sure, maybe I just got lucky? :) Sorrie, YT is the only social media I have, I could sent you a picture of the completed model via Gmail i you like. It's part of a 8 vehicle, 40 figure dio, lots of work left :) I'll sent you some pics of the dio too.

    I am a weird one that actually loves Takon kits, some people get annoyed with high parts count. I actually like it. I love Tamiya but it annoys me when you pay 50-80 dollars for a kit and finish it in 3 days lol. Yes I am cheap

      Thanks for watching and commenting Matthew! I do appreciate the fact that the kit felt like a good full build, even with it being such a small kit. The lower price is definitely a lot nicer than $50+ and I find that companies like Takom are giving us metal barrels and things that we don't get with Tamiya.
      I still love a good Tamiya kit the most, but I do think they could give us a little bit more for the price of the kits.
      Once I finished this kit though, all the frustration went away because it looked so good!

      @ lol, I know that feeling! I am about to start the wittman tiger from Takom after I finish the Meng m4a3e2 jumbo! I highly recommend that kit, it’s an absolute blast to assemble

      @Matthewtoyreview Ohh I've been eyeing the Meng Jumbo for a while now! I picked up and built Tamiya's re-release back in the spring/summer whenever it was. It was a very simple old school 70s kit, but fun. I'd like something a little more modern and there's nothing cooler than the Cobra King markings on that Meng one!

    Hi do or did you glue the torsion bars- and if so does the suspension still work?

    • @malemodeler7
      @malemodeler7  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So the torsion bars in this kit fit incredibly tight, but it doesn't tell you whether or not you need to glue them. I ended up glueing the far side of them to the body, because I didn't care if the suspension would work or not, but it ended up still working perfectly well. If you glue them at the end where they get inserted, I can see them not working.
      Again the way I did it left me with working suspension, but if you really wanted to make sure it worked, you don't have to glue them at all because the fit is so tight you'd have to rip them out.

    Takom kits are not great to be honest,i have built several and i was not impressed. But i will probably build one in the future anyway because they have some interesting subjects on offer.

      @@Skans153 yeah i was a little bit underwhelmed in the process. Once its finished i have to say it looks great on the shelf, but it felt like they used chatgpt to write the instructions 😂 mostly right with a couple flat out incorrect steps here and there. I had never seen that in a kit before.
      Like you said though great subject matter and this for me was one of those. Thanks for watching and commenting!
