As a born and bred Scouser who spent many childhood holidays on the I.o.M., but now living in Canada, I was recently pointed to your website. Now have watched about half-a-dozen of your videos. First of all, I am impressed with your coverage. Secondly, you've got me interested in yet another visit. The last time was 2012. You put together very informative and articulate videos. Thank you.
Really great videos Frank, the Manx government should be paying you as you’re doing a better job than they are in promoting the island in such a comprehensive and balanced way. I’m retired now, lived here most of my life and I’ve learned some things from you about the island! Keep up the good work Frank, we need to attract more people of working age here to fill the vacancies on offer. It really is one of the safest places in the world to bring children up.
Its safe because its full of old people, and cannot leave when commit a crime. I never seen so many people that crime in my life. Walk down the street no one smiles.
Thank you for putting together this very informative video. My son and his wife moved over to the island in Feb 2022 and invited me over in May. I instantly fell in love with the island and have so far made 3 visit's this year and am looking to relocate myself in the future.
Great video! I am a priest in the Church of England and perhaps in a few years considering a move. The posts rarely come up but you never know. Visiting a friend who lives on the IOM later in the year to get a feel for the place. Videos like this are really helpful in getting the reality of island living. Thank you. 🙂
I think you are doing such a good job promoting the Island, Frank. You are very balanced and fair with dispensing a lot of useful information. I can't wait to get back over - it's been way too long and I need to see what they have done with the Douglas prom, ha, ha!

Very helpful video we are planning to spend six months on the island to see if we would like to live there when we retire. All the information you have given has been so informative, many thanks
This is incredibly comprehensive: really well done! I watched it for nostalgia purposes, really. I used to live on the island (Castletown, Port Erin, Ballasalla) back in the 80s and 90s.
Such informative and helpful videos. I’m in Cape Town, company I work for is based in Douglas and would like me to relocate. Visited last year and loved it. Coming in September again with my partner so he can see too before we decide. My main concern are rentals as I will need to bring my dog over too. Seems to be very little stock and so many rentals are anti-pet. On the plus side I don’t think I’ve ever felt so safe in my life while being on the island
My grandfather's family left this island in the early 1900's for Rhode Island, USA. That was right around the time that tourism really started to take off and take over the island's economy. My family is still somewhat quiet and reclusive. I get the impression that they we're actually trying to escape the hustle and bustle and pomp and circumstance of tourism and the brand new TT race. The family had actually been leaving for the U.S. for at least 20 years before the TT came about though. I'd really like to visit IOM someday and see some of the places that my ancestors lived, worked and played. I wouldn't expect them to look too much like they did over 100 years ago though! Some of the only family photographs surviving from that era were actually taken during trips to Wales.
Absolutely brilliant video. Very informative. Especially the the information on Covid. You did omit the total (and completely justified omission) rules that are/were brushed under the carpet for a couple of weeks at the start of June 👍👍👍

Great video. You have put in a lot of work to make this very informative. We are looking at a move to IoM to when our son finishes 6th form. The only thing we are struggling with is that we do want to build/refurbish to an Eco/Passive house standard near the coast and the housing stock and /or land in IoM is not as interesting and available as say Isle of Wight or Guernsey. It does seem that different housing could be a struggle with planners from what we have seen so far which is a shame as it would be good to move away from the existing Victorian stock and new builds which are all great but planners have to be conscious of attracting wider scope to make the Island thrive in the future. We are arranging a meeting with them on our next visit shortly to see what's possible and how we can support the Biosphere on such a fantastic Island.

The ferry prices are crazy if you want to take your car. £250+ for just 1 adult and a car one way, so £500 for return. Add another adult and kid, it is £700 to 800 for return. With this price, I can fly to Asia!! Why should I go to a British Isle!! Not worth at all. Ridiculous

Not really
Only one problem with the Isle of Man.
Too many comeovers.

@@amadeusiom how does my German girlfriend go about moving here full time. She in Bonn
@@Laters3 depends on what she does. Most people move here when they have a job lined up already. If I can help on the ground, fee free to contact me. Amadeusiom@googlemail.com I’ve helped a few people by now.

Your video is great, I am Chinese, very interested in the Isle of Man and want to take my daughter to settle in the Isle of Man. Can you tell us what schools are on the Isle of Man and the pros and cons of each? thank you very much. And do you know the most cost-effective way to immigrate to the Isle of Man? Do you have any good advice for foreigners starting a business in the Isle of Man?
I have the same question
Hi there, I am also considering immigrated there~ I am wondering whether if you are applying for that inovator visa as the agent promoted?
Bags of Money for Shiny Things 😆💋
The ferry prices are crazy if you want to take your car. £250+ for just 1 adult and a car one way, so £500 for return. Add another adult and kid, it is £700 to 800 for return. With this price, I can fly to Asia!! Why should I go to a British Isle!! Not worth at all. Ridiculous
I am surprised I was under the impression that you had to be born in the Isle of Man to buy a house there.
Hello, I am a canadian citizen would love to move to Isle of man. Do you know any Agency offering Tier 2 visa for Carers? Thanks in advance. I tried to search online, couldnt get answers.
